AN HONEST REVIEW
My sister moved out some time ago, and I decided to transform her old room into a hang-out spot. I was looking for an affordable sofa bed my sister can sleep on when she visits the family. After extensive research, most options were either too expensive, looked uncomfortable, were poorly reviewed, or just unattractive. My search seemed hopeless until I came across these foldable mattresses that could double as a sofa. I thought this was perfect! It was affordable, easily converted into a mattress, and looked decent! However, I had some skepticism based on the reviews but decided to purchase one anyway. So, here’s my honest review. 1. Height The sofa is quite low. I mean, what else can you expect? It’s a mattress. But that didn’t bother me much. Adding pillows to the backrest makes it pretty comfortable for leaning back. I think the low height actually enhances the lean-back experience. 2. Mattress Comfort The firmness received mixed reviews, but I personally found it comfortable. It feels slightly firm when lying down due to even weight distribution but slightly compresses when sitting on a single point, especially the edges. It’s all preference, but if you’re particular about mattress firmness, then this purchase is a gamble. You have to just see for yourself. But if it helps, it’s like any other memory foam products if you’ve ever owned any before. 3. Air Tight Sealing This had the most complaints across all foldable sofa bed mattresses, from every and any company, on all possible websites that allow public reviews. This is a common issue across air-sealed products. There are numerous reasons why the shape won’t reform. Well, for one, it’s been compressed and air sucked dry for who knows how long. Most companies would also apply some sort of chemical that acts as a light adhesive so that the product remains compressed when shipped. It is also the reason why it will release odors when it’s first unpacked. After researching, about 80% of the shape will take its form after leaving it out for 24-48 hours as instructed. However, in most cases, only about 60-70% of the shape will take its form, usually in about forever. But there is a way to help the sofa shape back to its regular form! I’m probably not the first to do this, but I thought of a cheat code that can revive most of the sofa’s shape. If you have one of those handheld steamers, then you can make your sofa look much better. You probably put the pieces together already, but I just started steaming it, and I saw the sofa slowly come back to life. People have also complained about the wrinkles, so essentially, you’re killing two birds with one stone. This process might take a while because you want to make sure to steam all areas evenly. I steamed the corners more than any other area because it tends to be stiffer. If you commit to this process, then I can guarantee you that the sofa will look at least a little better. 4. Fabric Material The fabric cover feels cheap. It’s really thin and tight around the inner corners. I feel like I can tear the fabric if I sit down hard enough. I just know the fabric is prone to tearing. So, to extend its life, I slightly unzipped the cover, just enough to reduce tension on the fabric. 5. Pillows The pillows are adequate. It was included, so I’m not complaining. I steamed those too, and they look much better than when first unpacked. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. I had some hesitations due to mixed reviews, but this sofa bed was the best option for my needs. I hope this review helps with your decision!

Great alternative
I sold my house and moved in my fiancé's bachelor pad till we build the house. What they called a bedroom in an old story and a half house is more a storage room not a bedroom so we sleep in the living room. He has the couch I had a recliner. Yeah not comfortable after awhile. I was intrigued by these expanding furniture prices and wanted to test them out for our future loft. We'll I can say it makes a pretty good bed. I sleep comfortably and it is soft and supportive. I wish the roll pillow would have a velcro strap and not a sewn in strap to keep it in place. Getting the toll out is not as easy as putting it in so you do loose length to sleep on so you just curl up a little more then usual. I'm only 5ft 3 so it's not a major loss unless you are taller. Definitely worth the money if you need something for extra sleeping places. So much better then a cot and you get extra seating

A couple flaws but overall good
I knew what I was getting into buying this. We were looking for something that would be good for overnight guests, but wasn't a heavy piece of furniture, for our new upstairs spare room. (I didn't want to haul a sofa sleeper up the stairs, and I didn't want a permanent bed in the room at this point). We haven't used it a lot but so far it's comfortable to kind of lay back on and watch TV (make sure your TV is raised up fairly high off the ground. We have the TV on a dresser). The main thing I'm frustrated about is the time it is taking for the foam to uncompress. I read the review about using a steamer and I have one so I thought - easy peasy. Well... our steamer is no longer working so I couldn't test out that option. I tried using the steam on the iron but the places it hasn't decompressed yet are mainly the corners and sides and I don't want to melt the foam by getting an iron too close to it... so... about 2 weeks later I'm still waiting for it to compress to the shape that I see in some of the other reviewer's pictures. Otherwise I think it's a relatively inexpensive alternative to an air bed (they always get leaks - ALWAYS), or a sofa sleeper. I like that it has a zipper so sleepers won't fall through the crack.

BEST PURCHASE EVER! Let me tell you why!
I’m not sure why people are complaining and I’m not going to lie, it made me very very hesitant to buy this, but I went with my gut and ordered it anyway. I was looking for a couch/futon to go under my daughter’s loft bed for her room makeover. This folding couch’s dimension’s fit PERFECT. From its description I like that the cover was removable so that you can wash them (especially in a kids room) and that there was no complicated way to set it up. Just prop it up against the wall for it to be a couch, pull it farther from the wall to let the “headrest” for the couch falls and it turns into the perfect twin bed. The item came within a week, but I ordered it early before the room was going to be redone just in case there was any shipping delays. It comes in a vacuum sealed bag in a tall skinny box. It also comes with two pillows (that I just got some 17x17 pillow covers here on Amazon to cover so that I could use them for the room) and a cutter inside so that it’s easier to break the bag open. Once open the flip couch will expand (not to full size) but it will expand a good amount. I let it lay out for 24 hours (pillows too) and it became the full size. I will say if you are buying to replace a couch, this is not what you are looking for. Especially if you look into the item info you will see the dimensions and it’s obviously not as big as a full couch. It’s only about 8 inches thick and it’s quite firm. If you don’t like firm mattresses this will be uncomfortable for you, but for my daughter it’s fine. And if she sleeps on it she has a fluffy blanket on top anyways. I have no complaints for this product it worked out perfect for my daughters room (as you can see in the photos) and it’s great quality for such a versatile item!
