have they made this phone work correctly repeatedly yet or is two tin cans and a string still better?

I bought one of theses phones for my 81 year old mother and one phone for my 84 year old father and they are indestructible and very dependable. Before this phone I was having to buy them a phone ever 3 - 6 months. Very easy to use for older people
