The listing shows the dimensions of the box. What are the dimensions of the tape measure itself? I'm looking for compact, for my small hands.

Approximately 2.5x2.5 inches square; 1.5" deep. I am petite (5'2", 100 pounds) and it fits comfortably in my hands, although it did not specifically say "compact" on the packaging. I am left-handing, so I love that the numbering runs in both directions...no more trying to read upside-down and backwards! Also, it has a built-in pencil sharpener and an erasable area on front of tape to write down your measurements. Originally ordered it as a gift for my fiance and I liked his so much, I ordered one for myself. We are planning on ordering more for holiday giving.

What is the stand out/reach on this tape. Other word how far can u extend out without it touching anything before it the tape breaks over?

I would say about 2-3 feet then it just bends. I returned mine for this reason. I recommend looking at a diff brand. Personally I would spend the extra few bucks and get the easy read de Walt tape measure.

Is this tape measure class i, class ii, or unclassified? fyi, unclassified tape measures meet no standard and have absolutely no guaranty of accuracy.

FYI, this is the most accurate tape measure I’ve ever used.

How does it hold up with sand and dirt etc etc getting attached to tape and rolling inside?

Does not hold up well. I’m a carpenter and I buy 6 a year usually. One time the tape actually ripped. But mostly it’s the clip breaking off and or the retracting not working.

Excellent Tape Measure for Professionals

I’ve used a lot of tape measures over the years, and this FastCap is one of my favorites. The left-handed markings make reading measurements much more natural for me, and the numbers are clear and easy to see. It has a smooth blade extension, a strong lock, and feels durable without being overly heavy. The built-in pencil sharpener is a nice bonus. Whether you’re a carpenter, DIYer, or just need a reliable tape measure around the house, this is an excellent choice. I’d definitely buy it again.
