Definitely not a foul smell. Just very strong citrus smell.

I looked on the bottle. It doesn't say anything about a shelf life or expiration date. It does work very well and has a strong smell.

Why do they charge more per unit when you buy six than if you buy one?

Because they are not good businessmen. I buy mine by the single because of this, plus a single lo lasts me a couple months or more
