These COB strips work best with a minimum of 10 watts (2 amps) per meter of length used. I'd check your TV's specifications. Not all USB ports will supply 2A. As long as your TV does, you are good to go. If you cut the length, you could probably get by with a 1A power source which is very common.

How long is the part of the chord without lights?
