The quality of the video is good, no doubt about that. The Wi-Fi connection is also stable and works well with 5 and 2.5Ghz. However, I faced the following issues: 1. The recording is inconsistent. Sometimes it records, and sometimes it doesn’t. Most of the time, it starts recording only after someone stands in front of it for a while. I don’t think a thief or trespasser would wait that long to get recorded. 2. The charging is also inconsistent. Even on bright sunny days, sometimes it does not charge properly. 3. It takes some time to wake up after detecting movement, and the range for starting the recording is also quite limited. Overall, I cannot strongly recommend this product unless these issues are solved through a future update.

To start with let me high light the positive aspects of the product. 1. The clarity of the display is simply super during day and night. The night vision is really appreciated. 2. The added small labels for exactly drilling holes in the wall make the life easy. 3. The base plates that go in the wall are independent of the product. Hence the camera and the solar panel faces could be adjusted as required and kept secured tight in place. 4. I have noted the 4-meter length cable from solar panel to the camera is more than sufficient. 5. The camera has USB C port which is universal as on date. You can use the one-foot USB C cable provided for initial charging prior to installation. The amber and green led lights help to know the camera is fully charged or not. 6. The tiny ON/OFF switch within the camera is really useful feature. You can keep the camera OFF for known continuous works within the security zone. The cons are as follows. 1. The camera APP is purely designed for smart phones and not easy task for laptops. 2. You have to purchase a SD card for the camera recording. 3. The deterrent alarm feature provided for home entry / exit monitoring continuously 24/7 365 days, serves little purpose rather than consuming the battery. 4. Since one end of the cable is permanently attached to the solar panel, routing of the cable from solar panel to the camera is really a difficult task however good quality cable hider you purchase to get an aesthetic look. The proper single cable hider with good aesthetic look has to be purchased separately. 5. There is no provision in the APP to show the camera is getting charge or not. A little tiny lightning mark in the battery icon, (as given in smart phones and laptop against battery icon) may be an added advantage to know whether the cable is properly plugged in or not. Remember proper and secure tight plugging in of the incoming solar cable to the USB port at the bottom side of the camera (following installation) is really a difficult task. Finally, I want to add some suggestion, When the camera can distinguish between person, car and animals, can it automatically reject alerts for known homeowners after a good number of repeats of the same persons.

Easy to install , the image is clear and the solar panel works perfectly even in cloudy days . We installed the Reolink app ( free) in our phone , so you can check camera battery , images and sound You need to buy an USD card separate or have cloud account for recording

This camera and company are awesome! The app is beautiful, and the functionality is amazing. Since it is wireless, it can be set up in minutes, and with a solar panel plugged in, I never have to charge it even with only a few hours of indirect sunlight a day. The app can differentiate between people, pets, and vehicles. You can set no detection zones and detection by size of object. You can talk through it. You can have the light kick on with motion at night or not. You can change how long it records after detecting motion. It truly is an amazing system, and it is nice to have your own local storage while also being able to see through your cameras from anywhere in the world. I had Arlo for years, but I am glad I switched to a more commercial type product once I needed an upgrade.
