Does it come with the play wood and how many pieces

It comes with foam plastic pieces that look like wood. Each kit contains enough pieces to make a couple different items.

Is this something that could be kept outside? Or would rain/sun damage it? Im trying to find outside toys

I would say 3 to 4 year olds. Lots of tools which is nice. I would order more building blocks of more projects to build for a 4 year old. My 3 1/2 year old great grandson loves it. Hope this helps.
