It's just like brand new.
Although it's the oldest model of Nikon DSLR camera, it perfectly suit my need as an amateur photographer.

A great buy for the money Nikon D80
We have had this used Nikon D80 only a few days, and the review is to the details. This camera is in better condition than the seller's description of the product. Its very clean, like new, over all in very very good condition! We will be buying with confidence from them in the future.

I saved a ton of $$$
I've had the D-80 since it was introduced. I've used it almost exclusively for professional macro photography. In well more than ten years, I took literally thousands (and I do mean thousands) of macro photos for a fly tying magazine I edit and more than a dozen books I've written. And then, one day, the mirror locked up and I got the "ERR" message others have talked about. That message means send to the repair shop, but no one repairs this model anymore. Oh well, I more than made my money off that workhorse, and as the man who taught me this business was fond of saying: "When it breaks, toss it, get another, and keep working." The problem is I plan to retire in the next year or so and have no interest in researching another camera, getting used to it, and investing a lot of money in the process. It occurred to me to see if I could find a used D-80 body, and bingo! This "used" body cost less than $200, and I swear it has seen very little if any use. It accepts all of my Nikon lenses and accessories such as a remote shudder release, and the image sensor—even when taking macro photos against a white background—produces spotless images. (Like I said, I'm not sure this body was ever really used.) I saved hundreds of dollars and am working again. I would definitely buy from this vendor again.

Not as advertised
Camera body arrived missing the original box, shoulder stap and documentation. Also found after testing, sensor has hot pixels in the center of image. This product was listed as in very good condition which hasn't been the outcome.

The camera did not work to expectations.
The product arrived quickly but it did not work. The camera is an older model so I was not expecting much. I had a D80 that died so I thought this one may work. But it did not; seems the internal mechanisms that transfer the picture to make an image does not work. Nikon does not repair the D80 anymore due to its age. Thanks for trying anyways.

A good camera and affordable
This was a great model for her time. Now is a little limited, but for someone staying on a semi-professional image hunter, this is a great product.

Excellent Prosumer Digital SLR
In short, an excellent choice if you're an enthusiatic amatuer who can't justify the cost of a professional DSLR. I bought this camera to replace my ageing Minolta film SLR, having promised myself that I'd wait until good quality DSLRs broke the 10 mega-pixel barrier at a reasonable price before parting with my cash. Minolta stopped producing SLRs a few years ago (replaced by Sony I think, which is an unknown quantity to me), so I decided to look at other brands. I've had a Nikon Coolpix point-and-shoot digital for some years which I've been very pleased with, so I plumped for a Nikon DSLR. As an amatuer, I wanted a camera that is versatile, reasonably portable and of high quality. I also wanted something that would allow me to explore Digital SLR fully (point-and-shoot digital isn't the same of course, and the fast feedback you get with DSLR compared to film is wonderful). Given my budget and the current Nikon range, this came down to either the D80 or the D200. The D200 is very impressive, but I just couldn't justify the extra £300 or so that it costs and decided this was best spent on a better lense. Not only that, but the D80 is very close in specification to the D200. For me, the additional features of the D200 were just not worth the extra £300 given what I will use the camera for. So I went with the D80 and the excellent Nikon 18-200 VR lense and have not been disappointed. Nikon don't offer this body/lense combination as a kit, so I had to buy separately which of course ups the cost somewhat, but it's worth it I think. Most of my images stay on the PC and the exceptional ones get printed up to A3 format for display. Resolution wise, the D80 seems to handle this with ease. The camera is a dream to use, and in the short time that I've had it I've had excellent results. As others have said, the camera oozes good quality, and this applies not only to the finish/controls but also under the hood as well. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
