416 Carbon Black Metallic Touch Up Paint Repair Kit Compatible with BMW - DIY Kit Exactly Matches Chips and Nicks

I ordered these for touchup on my BMW X5. Perfect match. Easy to use and can fill a chip mark easily. It also buffs out well and can even be used by the amateurs to complete a good touchup job.

Short Version:This product does the job I was hoping it would do. In years past I'd had a very bad view of touch-up paints. I have a much improved view of this product. The airdam of my car (lower bumper, or lip as some would call it) was peppered with stone chips. I saw this product and decided to give it a try. My only REAL hope was that the color was a good match (it hasn't always worked out that way for me). In this case, it was a good match. It did what I wanted, which was to color the chips and in some cases, fill them in a bit. I wasn't looking for perfection, just to make the chips less obvious.I'd rate this less than a 4 but certainly more than a 3. It rounds up to 4.Long Version:This kit comes with a paint vile with a brush built into the cap, a separate short bristle brush (which I think I should have used and will next time), a small rubber sanding block, a very small piece of very fine sandpaper, a small tube of body putty, and an applicator for the putty. While some may use all that, I've personally found in the past that if I'm sanding the paint, I'll just get the panel painted. So I didn't use it. That's just me. Your mileage may vary.The paint, as I already mentioned, was a very good match. Even if I "painted outside the lines (of the chip)" it didn't leave an ugly blotch. I really appreciate this aspect. In my opinion, the paint itself is just a bit too thin for my needs (chip fill). It's nice that it flows well, but on occasion thinned out a bit too much. That was easy to correct with a second coat. But I would have preferred the paint to be just a bit thicker so it didn't thin out when applied. It would have made filling the cracks a bit better. Also, being so thin, the pain occasionally dripped off the brush, or sometimes flowed down the brush and onto my fingers. Otherwise, I'm pleased with this and will almost certainly use it again when the chips reappear.

The touch up kits is excellent and extremely easy to use. Much needed for the environment I live in. The color is precise. Durable and work well. It pays for itself.

Paint is thin and drips quite a bit. One coat is not enough. Color is not an exact match

Nice easy to apply and matches the actual paint on my car. Drying process it less than two days. I love it and would buy more

This kit comes handy but I think there is another brand sold at O’Reilly that may be easier to use. Here are my observations-1) the putty dries up in 2-3 mins or less depending on the external temperature and wind. The putty tub oozes out automatically once I punctured it. 2) The paint brush tool is the most useful tool. It allows for fine application of the putty especially in small areas. 3) After the silver paint is applied, I also used the same paint brush to apply the details. The original brush that comes with the paint is not useful since the fiber is uneven and the tip does not work well for small fine surfaces. 4) To prep for the paint job, dab a bit of paint onto a paint tray to use for the duration of the procedure. With the constant bending and squatting there is potential to spill the paint. 5) initially, I use the sanding paper but realized it also rub the original paint off the nearby surfaces. I would use this with caution. 6) start with a bucket of water, a rag, gloves and paper towel. 7) The color A83 does not match 100% with the original paint.

Color match perfectly. Love the complete kit that include the sand papers, putty fill...etc to make it as complete paint chip and scratch repair kit. Price is good since there is everything you need. Work wells and easy to do , just follow the instructions. Great item and highly recommended.
