11/32 if drilling your own hole.

What sized wing nut is used for these?

There is no wing nut. They screw right into your plastic bucket or bottle. You will need to drill a hole with an 11/32 drill bit and they screw in and stay by themselves.

How do they work during the winter? I want to do a frost proof run with the t’s using a 55 gallon drum

We use a submersible heating coil in our waterer when it’s below freezing because I do think water will freeze in them.
