Great router
Does everything I need. Running 2 linux servers and a wap with about 5 constant devices across 4 subnets. I bought this to practice for the ccna and also run scenarios. The service contract is required to download any updates as ios 11 and lower do not have support for DHCP that most consumer isps support. It will run you about $150. I did max out the memory and upgraded the flash card, which for me both worked with "non cisco" media perfectly fine. All in all im satisfied.

Awesome Router
This is an excellent low cost router for setting up your CCNA lab. I prefer to work on real equipment even if it is a little older than the current equipment in modern enterprises. You get to use the actual Cisco commands via command line and see how the equipment responds and is great for troubleshooting. The modern lab at my school has 1841s and 2811 and this router was about $100, good price.

Cisco Router - Works Perfectly.
Installed a T1 at my residence, this router worked perfectly. No cards were included. Packaging was great. No complaints. Received a call from the seller a few days after delivery to confirm that it had arrived and functioned as required. Which, in this day and age of commerce - I believe, is unheard of. Would buy from seller again.

Okay Router, Bad Seller Experience
Purchased two of these machines for our business that runs an 1841 on lease, as we are switching providers and must return it.Delivery was on time, which is a plus, except the units came with rack mountable ears that don't actually fit the model (Our seller, RetroHardware Inc, gave us first generation 1841s which cannot be rack mounted without a tray). On top of that, we got a router whose fan broke off its assembly that I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't inspect the machine after getting it. The fan is a 60mmx60mmx15mm with a 3 pin connector FYI for anyone wondering. The free console cables are nice, I guess, but having to repair damaged equipment is a big no-no, along with having to replace the battery on the boards themselves.

Great product, but no updates without maint contract
This router is more robust and flexible than most out there for the price. It has features such as dual-WAN (properly executed, unlike most consumer dual WAN products out there), it has excellent firewall features, and it includes Cisco SDM, their configuration tool that helps avoids misconfiguration leading to security holes and functionality problems.HOWEVER - Cisco is IMPOSSIBLE to deal with. They require a maintenance contract to be purchased with a Cisco reseller simply to download a software update. It infuriates me that I would have to pay money to someone for doing nothing but displaying a Cisco logo. I am perfectly able to apply updates on my own without having to pay - and Cisco should catch up with the times. This practice of requiring maint contracts for any downloaded updates is a major negative and steers me to look for other products.

Excellent Product, i bough this router to practice for my CCNA and it has been very useful. before doing any practice i would recommend doing a backup of your image just in case you mess it up while practicing.

... mind that Cisco doesn't still make these - they're great for creating a home lab for the CCNA/CCNP
Blows my mind that Cisco doesn't still make these - they're great for creating a home lab for the CCNA/CCNP, and there aren't a terrible lot of comparable current generation offerings from Cisco that are affordable on a non-business budget which are also rackmountable and include IOS.

Bonus
Bought two of these to complete a CCNA lab set. Both are clean and work well. In fact, one of these has IOS 15 installed as opposed to v12. Well packaged and came with power cables. Happy customer.
