THE Classroom Management Book

I needed this book for class, and I ended up finding it very informing. I plan on keeping the book and using some of these strategies in my future classroom. Lightweight, easy to carry, doesn’t take up too much space.

I used this before starting student teaching to help me map out my first day of school and come up with a classroom management plan. I think this book can be a savior for any new teachers or any level, although as a high school teacher, I did have to take some things with a grain of salt because it was geared more towards younger students. The principles still work the same though, and I found it incredibly useful!

If you are just starting out as a teacher, this book is GREAT! It goes over several topics that you may not have thought about and gives great information and suggestions for managing them. 10/10 stars, you need this one!

Veteran teacher (12 years) here, and I STILL use this book as a resource. From double checking I have all my bases covered at the beginning of the school year to unusual situations (though I'm very thankful I've never had to use the resource of what to do if a parent of a student dies, or what to do is a student passes). Filled with practical advice in an easy to use format, I highly recommend this resource for ALL teacher, both new and experienced.

Not to informative but was needed for a class I had to take to renew my teaching certification.

Best book ever for teachers.

I'm entering my 24th year of teaching and wanted to brush up on classroom management. School has been way different since the pandemic and proliferation of electronics in my high schoolers' lives. I figured I would go back to the Wongs since their book First Days of School had helped me years ago. So far this book hits every expectation. Clear, concise directions on how to do everything. Every few pages you come to a QR code that gives multiple examples of how teachers at all levels K-12 use that particular skill. Super helpful. I'm only a few chapters in, but this book is giving me new hope for this upcoming school year!

After reading “first days of schools”, new teachers should read this. Real life examples of how to have success in the classroom.

The Classroom Management Book by Harry Wong et al. is truly insightful and has transformed my approach to teaching. For years, I found myself grappling with classroom management, often making errors I now understand were counterproductive. This book systematically addresses those mistakes and offers a comprehensive range of effective strategies to create a more organized and productive learning environment. It's an invaluable resource for any educator – you have to try it!

It's a great book with lots of practical, common sense principles that you can apply to your teaching practice. Just beware that unfortunately in this day and age of horrendous school leadership, some of the advice in this book might actually get you in trouble with your school administrators. Proceed at your own risk.
