Wow, what a mighty air conditioner!
This 5,000 BTU window air conditioner is definitely worth the money. I might have paid $150 plus $20 in taxes. It was money well spent. It works great on the hot summer days. I use a fan to circulate the air in the room. Noise level is minimum. The design is very good. It's made well and sturdy. It comes with the little white expander thing for the window, which helps it fit. It does come with a remote, but I haven't had to use it. My bed is right beside it, so I touch the air conditioner itself to change the functions. The filter is easy to clean. It wasn’t very hard for my husband to install. Actually, rather easy. Its functionality is simple and easy to use. Snowflake is for air conditioning; the fan symbol is for the fan. I think it has a filter option and an eco setting, which is helpful. Small size, but it does put out a good bit of cold air. Super happy I found this one.

Love it!
Pretty dang awesome, don't know why people are complaining that it's loud. It is what it is. It cools well, it dehumidifies well, the air flow is dope, and the temp controls are awesome. I don't like that the remote will change on the screen and only change the unit when it's near directly in front of it. - Don't trust the temp change unless you hear your unit beep. - As far as reliability goes, A++, though for some reason when it shifts between gears in eco friendly mode, it makes one of my PC monitors turn off for a moment, even though they're not even on the same outlet.

Great little air condicione for
⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great little air condicione for small rooms! I bought this Midea 5,000 BTU window air conditioner a few months ago, and it works perfectly for my bedroom. It cools the room quickly and keeps the temperature very comfortable. The remote control is convenient, and the reusable filter is easy to clean. It’s also not too noisy compared to other window units I’ve had before. If you need an affordable and efficient AC for a small space (around 150 sq ft), this is a great choice. For keeping guests cool while they sleep...
Although I have HVAC, I put this in my 127 sq ft guest room, as some of them prefer to sleep cooler than I keep the house. I have set it up so that it is easily installed/removed (10 minutes). It does cool the air well, however, it loses a star because it lacks the ability to direct airflow up - the air can only be directed side to side. It also loses a star because of the flimsy, energy inefficient accordion "wings". (Then again, that's pretty much the norm for every window AC unit I've ever had) I removed those and created custom solid panels from 1/2" birch ply, edged with foam weather strip, which make it much more weather tight now. It does make a fair bit of noise at low fan, much more so at high fan. The biggest plus that gains a star back would be the remote - it works easily and well, and guests will find it very convenient. Overall, a reasonable purchase.

Customer service is a 1
I bought this reconditioned Midea window AC unit. I bougnht it in September for use the next summer because I am on a budget and need to spread out purchases. I opened it to make sure it wasn't totally broken. It looked to be in one piece. I went to install it because I have renters coming. The top rail was squished. You need it not to be squished because you need to slide the accordian sides into it to fit the window. Unfortunately, not only could I not attached the right side, but I got 2 left sides anyway which are not interchangeable. Then there is customer service. I got disconnected from chat twice. Then I called. The woman was polite but it was hard to understand her with her accent. When I had gotten almost go the end of the second chat before losing the chat, the woman showed me a parts list, and I determined that I needed part 7 and 10. I told the woman over the phone the parts I needed with the corresponding number. She had no idea what I was talking about. So, who knows if I am going to get any of the parts before I need them. It was so frustrating:( I have been happy with Midea products, I always buy them, but I never had a problem with my order before. I may go with another company in the future.

Great little AC for the price!
This Midea 5,000 BTU window unit has been a fantastic purchase for my small bedroom. It was incredibly easy to install—I had it up and running in about 15 minutes with just a screwdriver. The instructions were clear, and all the parts I needed were in the box. The cooling power is impressive for such a compact unit. It quickly drops the temperature in my room (about 150 sq. ft.) and keeps it comfortable even on the hottest days. It's a bit noisy, but honestly, that's what you'd expect from a budget-friendly window AC, and I find the consistent hum to be good white noise for sleeping. The controls are simple and straightforward, and I love that it has a "constant fan" option—a feature not all units in this price range have. It helps keep the air circulating and the room from feeling stuffy. Overall, if you need an affordable, easy-to-install AC for a small space, this one is a solid choice.

Do not get for a bedroom
The air conditioner works fine and cools the room, but I find the temperature to be a bit inaccurate. My biggest gripe with it is that it lets in SO MUCH light through the vent. I wish I had known this before purchasing because it is for a very light sensitive baby's room. I'll most likely need to purchase a different one with a black interior that keeps the room darker. It's not good for sleep.
