It demands attention, and perhaps forgiveness.
It came not with thunder, but with a hissโsoft, conspiratorialโas the can was opened, releasing a perfume both familiar and unsettlingly sweet. Dr Pepper Zero, Strawberries and Cream, is no meek draught. It is a contradiction poured cold: indulgence without sugar, comfort braided with defiance. At first taste, strawberries bloomโripe, blushing, almost too tender for the iron tang beneath. Then the cream follows, smoothing the sharpness, lending a ghost of gentleness, like memory softening an old wound. Yet beneath it all, unmistakable and unyielding, stands Dr Pepper itself: dark, medicinal, complex as a stormed-over moor. The flavors do not blend so much as contend, and in that struggle lies their strange power. There is something daring in its sweetness, a refusal to apologize. Though stripped of sugar, it does not feel deprived. Instead, it asserts itself with an almost moral stubbornness, insisting that pleasure need not always be paid for in excess. Each bubble carries a sparkโeffervescent, restlessโlike thoughts that refuse to settle. I drank it slowly, then again with abandon. The twelve cans felt less like abundance than endurance: enough to carry one through long afternoons and later hours, when the mind wanders and the heart seeks distraction. It is not a soda for polite company or idle sipping. It demands attention, and perhaps forgiveness. This is a beverage for those who harbor contradictionsโwho crave sweetness but resist surrender, who find solace in complexity. Dr Pepper Zero Strawberries and Cream is indulgence haunted by restraint, a pleasure sharpened by absence. It lingers on the tongue like an echo, odd and compelling, daring you to decide whether you love it. And like all true passions, it scarcely waits for your answer.

Nothing wrong with the product. I have a hard time finding a diet soda with an added flavor that I like.

Quality control...?
We've ordered this Pepsi before, as it is heavily consumed in our household, so when the price was as it was($5!) how could we resist. It's usually a good product, but maybe we should have taken a clue when the original order was "lost" or something, that maybe they were having an issue. Some of the cans were dented like the cases had been thrown around a lot. And the flavor seems off?
