non-drying, fragrance-free, good lather, and economical
I'm a repeat customer. It doesn't dry out my skin like most soaps, it's more economical, and I can give it whatever scent I want. If you keep it from sitting in water, it dries well and lasts a pretty long time. It also lathers well--even when it's down to a little scrap, I can still get enough suds to wash my face.

The Price is Right
I purchased 5 boxes on Feb 8, 2026 for $24.99 for each 5 lb case. The very next day Feb 9, 2026 upon tracking my other purchases, I noticed that this product was decreased in price to $19.99 each case of 5 lbs...so not cool. I should have received some type of discount for my purchase. I have bought this product numerous times before. Repeat customers should get some type of discount especially when they buy 2 or more cases at a time. I would have purchased even more at $19.99. Besides this, I like that there are individual 1 lb loaves which makes it easy to deal with. I also like the appearance of the packaging and that it comes with the recipe book, which is helpful for creating and customizing the ingredients of your bars of soap. Quality of the soap is good.

AWESOME!
Really nice soap base my customers are going to love. And supporting a fellow small business is a bonus. I agree with the other reviews that this might be frustrating for beginners. I hope the other soap lines are expanded to the larger offerings. Very customizable and sturdy base. The soap by itself is very hydrating and not sticky. Very transparent and not yellow.

Great Packaging, Super Tough to Work With
The packaging is absolutely WONDERFUL. It's just like the pics; parsed into separate little 1lb blocks. (Which is great for measuring how much you're using in a project- especially if you sell your soap.) The clarity was okay, a little yellower than I'd like, but it wasn't severe. My big issue (as a semi-hobbyist soapmaker for 4yrs or so) is how hard this base is. The first warning sign was how difficult it was to cut. This stuff literally feels like hard cheese. That texture was a little worrisome, as other bases are almost silky. But I've also worked with ones that're too soft, & never having worked with it before, I gave it some grace and hope for the best. Turns out after giving it several tries, no matter how you heat it, this stuff firms up FAST. (Much too fast for my liking, anyway.) The worktime on this stuff is pretty awful, imo. It solidifies EXTREMELY quickly, so you better be extremely efficient with adding colorants, fragrance, etc. 'Cause it's already starting to thicken by the time you start pouring. (And you better be a confident pourer, & with good lighting, bc it starts to set up in the mold immediately, & doesn't even allow time to spritz your surface with rubbing alcohol; to eliminate air bubbles.) It gives the false impression that you're mixing time is okay, but as soon as you start to pour, it's ON, (Which means there's no correcting of your poured surfaces (the bottoms), & a lot of wasted soap leftover, thickly hardened to your pouring cup, & less soap actually IN your molds.) And because he's so tough, it's also incredibly hard to get out of your pouring vessel- & impossible to do so cleanly. (Unlike other brands, which can often come out in one nearly clean swoop- which is also insanely satisfying. ;)) There's definitely no easy removal If you mean to retrieve any of the leftover material either way. So even if you remelt (& risk burning it, making it even harder), it's a tedious pickapalooza no matter what. (Unless you just scrap the leftovers & leave it to soak in hot water.) I almost gave this 3 stars just because it isn't a total battle at the start to with with, & I do love the packaging. But I think its main failing is when you heat it. No matter how careful you are, it acts like severely burnt soap base. Maybe they overheat it during the creation process, or maybe I just got a bad batch. But I'd say if your glycerin base feels like really hard, super aged Swiss cheese right out of the package, it's a warning sign. ;) Better to try Primal or that 4lb one that comes in the brown bag for around $23. They're more expensive, but it's also better stuff. ๐
