I actually didn't purchase this for handwriting purposes necessarily. My child has good handwriting, but the simple act of writing drains him! He gets so tired even writing one or two sentences (he is not pressing down too hard on his pencil, ie: exerting too much energy unnecessarily, fyi). I decided to try this because it had fun facts to make it more interesting and he can learn along the way. This excites him! I have him do one page and day (up to four sentences and he skips the tracing part as I mentioned his handwriting is already good). After two weeks of doing this he said, "You know what? It is actually getting a lot easier to write now!" Anyway, I wanted to share this in case you have a child in a similar boat.

This made my son actually want to practice which is pretty cool. He likes reading me the jokes and fun facts!!!! I would highly recommend.

Great book! The pages are a little bit thin, but not too bad. My 9 year old had zero issues. He likes that he’s not just writing boring stuff, but interesting facts. Hopefully this will help better his penmanship

My child is getting closer to the age where they will begin reading and writing so I have been looking for books for them and I think this may be a good book for them. I have some issues with the activities. The beginning of the book is really simple and it appears to be for either for really young child or just for practicing penmanship but later activities in the book seem so more advanced than just writing the alphabet. But what may be negatives could be huge positives. Later sections of the book will help children in so many ways. They can work on their penmanship, they can learn how to read and write simple sight words all while learning interesting facts about science, dinosaurs, and other subjects. One of the final sections seems much more advanced then other activities require children to write their own grocery list. But if you work with the child you can hope to expose them to newer words that they can learn to read and write. I am giving this book the benefit of the doubt and accepting that I am not be experienced enough and may not know what is best for children when learning to read and write.

I bought this book along with several others to help out 7th grader. he has struggled with English/Reading/Spelling since COVID. He was in the 2nd and 3rd grade during COVID and virtual learning the foundational skills was not kind to him!

My 8 year old needed help with his handwriting so we bought this over the summer. He loves facts and jokes so this really helped him get a bit more motivated to practice. The fun part is he remembers the jokes and facts he writes because you end up writing it out 2-3 times over. There’s an added bonus there. The book is good quality and the pages are great. They’re not thin and hold up perfectly to an eraser.
