Good stuff
Really good tool boxes, very sturdy and feels like you probably wont need another set for most things around the house. I used this to assemble a shelf recently and had everything I needed in the box The tools do feel expensive and the case keeps everything organised properly instead of bits falling everywhere. Ratchet feels smooth as well. Definately happy with it.

Perfect tool set for my brompton
Properly solid, high-quality kit. It’s got absolutely everything I need for servicing my Brompton. The extra-long hex keys are brilliant for shifting stubborn pedal bolts, which is something you rarely find in other toolsets.

Well made and usable, could be improved.
£188.99 as reviewed. Firstly, I am not a professional mechanic but I enjoy tinkering with cars to the extent that I have rebuilt engines, gearboxes, differentials and overdrives and have built kit cars. Over the years I very quickly developed a loathing for inferior tools and have tended to go for known brands such as Britool and SP, more recently the professional range from a certain high street car spares store as they are exceptional quality and reasonably priced. My views on the Starwork 169 piece mechanics set, they are well made, the sockets and spanners have a smooth satin like finish so easy to keep clean, they are also clearly engraved with sizes so easy to identify. The pliers, pipe wrenches and bolt cutter are nicely made and precise although cushioning on the grips is minimal and lacks texture to assist grip. There is a good range of sockets, 4 to 14 mm in the 1/4" drive and 14 to 32 mm in the 1/2" drive, the 30 and 32 being quite rare in sets like this. Some aspects of the set are less appealing, the edges of the spanners are very square which can cause fatigue over long periods of use, the case is reasonable but some of the items are difficult to remove and replace and the lack of a 3/8" ratchet as the E10 to E18 are 3/8" drive sockets, there is a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter included in the set. This is basically a good quality set which would cover most of the needs of DIY mechanics although it wouldn't be my first choice as I tend to use 3/8" drive for 90% of the tinkering I do.

Great kit in quality case

Damaged due to loose tools in case.
Mine arrived with several of the larger tools loose in the case which had damaged the bit holder plastic box. It’s too much trouble to return it just for that but that’s the only option offered. I’d have preferred a replacement part or part refund. The outer packaging didn’t seem to be damaged but at some point the tool case had been subjected to some force because the plastic box is quite thick so it would have been quite hard to break. Quite disappointed as the product itself seems decent quality.

Good complementary tool set with locking key
The quality: It is good and there are few imperfections but overall it is good. I like the case with nicely vibrant red aluminium strip for better strength and durability as well as that you have keys to lock it. All tools are good although not the best. They will do the work but not sure if they will withstand everyday abuse in some professional garage. However, for typical DIYer it will be more than enough. Functionality: It has plenty of tools that your home will need at some point. Ratchets, extensions, sockets, all the bits, and many more. You definitely find a tool right for the job in this case. I like the very clever design of pliers that always hold at the right angle as well as wire cutter that have some clever mechanical advantage using some leverages to give you extra cutting power. There is a screwdriver with plenty of bits and other adapters and different sockets. My opinion: This is quite complementary tools set with good quality case. It has everything you will need to be honest andant people won't need so many tools but it is good to have these just in case. The quality is good and everything works as it should.

A decent set of auto tools in a useful carry case
The main advantage of this set is that it brings together a very good range of tools in one useful case, making them more easily portable. The whole thing is very heavy but has an effective carry handle and it is certainly possible to lug it around. My initial thoughts were that the set might have been ideal for anyone looking for tools when first starting on auto repairs but it’s also ideal for those of us who are often called to help with repairs away from our garages. The tools in the set are generally of good quality, with some excellent ones and others less so but none of them poor in my view. Most tasks can be carried out using the set though I’ve noted that some specialist tools are missing. For example I’d have liked some finer snips for electrical work to be included, but in fairness it would be impossible to include tools for all eventualities. On balance I think I it’s a decent set of general auto tools which can also be used elsewhere.

Excellent mid-range toolkit
I already have a large 300+ piece Starwork tool set and when I saw this smaller one it looked ideal as a more portable solution where I don’t need absolutely everything to hand. The quality of the tools is excellent, the ratchet handles have a fine ratchet in them so it’s easy to maintain progress in tight spaces. These particular ones have a plastic / rubber handle which is very comfortable in your hand, it is a little odd that there is no 3/8” drive handle despite there being a selection of 3/8” sockets - there is an adapter but that means using the larger handle which is a bit cumbersome but I suppose it saves space and weight in the kit. The spanners (wrenches) have quite an angular profile which could be uncomfortable with extended use, I don’t expect to be using this particular set more than occasionally for small jobs though so it won’t be an issue. The pliers are well finished although the handles are not very well padded, The adjustable wrench pliers are especially good - I can see me using the functionality of this tool quite a lot as it will be quick to adjust and use. The case is well designed and tough. The Case handle is nice and soft and the closure mechanisms are excellent and work well. This is not a cheap set but everything in it is good quality so I think it is good value compared with what else is available.

I liked it
I was pleasantly surprised by this tool set! It comes with everything you could need - pliers, adjustable wrenches, plenty of screwdriver bits, and much more. The tools feel sturdy and well-made, especially for the price. It's an incredible value and a great addition to any home or garage. I would definitely recommend it!
