It would possibly, but only because it would restrict air flow under the door. It is a brush, so it's not air tight. But if your floor is uneven, this would be the proper and maybe only choice, because it wouldn't get stuck on the floor and hold the door. I use them on screen porches to keep bugs out.

Yes, it comes with screws to attach it to the bottom of wood or metal doors.

Q: Can this be installed on the bottom of a wooden fence gate to help keep animals from getting into the yard? That would be our sole purpose.

You could install it on a fence gate but you would have to keep it low to the ground to keep the little critters out.

Only one (1) door sweep per package. You can cut it to the length you need to fit your door. Really easy to install.
