I picked up the CORSAIR RM850e (2025 revision) as part of a rebuild centered around an Intel i9-12900KS and RTX 3090, and I’ve been nothing but impressed so far. Build Quality & Design: The unit itself is solid — heavy in a reassuring way, with a clean black finish and no unnecessary branding or flashy extras. The fully modular design is a huge plus, especially for managing cables in a tight mid-tower. I appreciated that the included cables were all black and flat — easy to route behind the motherboard tray, and they look clean without custom sleeving. Installation & Cabling: Installation was simple, and everything fit snugly. I’m using the standard 3x 8-pin for the 3090, but it’s nice knowing the 12V-2x6 cable is included in case I upgrade to a future PCIe 5.1 card later on. No loose connectors, no weird bends required — and unlike some modular PSUs I’ve dealt with, the ports on the unit are clearly labeled and firmly seated. Performance & Stability: Despite powering a very power-hungry setup, this PSU hasn’t flinched once. The 12900KS, even under boost/load, can be a voltage-hungry CPU, especially paired with the 3090 — but even during max load stress testing (Cinebench + Heaven benchmark running together), rails stayed completely stable, no crashes or brownouts, and no sign of power-related instability. Noise & Efficiency: Corsair nailed the noise levels. During idle and light gaming, the fan doesn't even spin up. Even when it does under load, it’s so quiet it fades into the background of my other case fans. My case has good airflow, but the fan curve on this PSU is genuinely impressive. It is cheap and worth more than the price. I never worry about Corsair's quality. There was no noise, no light, not so heavy, cables are clean and easy to install on both sides.

High build quality, and the small size makes cable management easy in bigger and smaller cases. The included cables are very nice, and are aesthetically pleasing as oppose to most PSU's. Also very quiet on idle I can't even hear when it turns on under load.

Great PSU. I generally get SeaSonic Focus GX PSUs and decided to try this out. Very happy with the purchase, hope it lasts like the SeaSonics.

This power supply is a beast. I’ll never have another ps that isn’t modular. I have an old atx case with a frankly ridiculous number of drives in it and this ps isn’t even breathing hard. My last ps was a Corsair 750 and it lasted 12 years in this rig overloaded the whole time. I’ll be dead before this ps is.

This is a good power supply, and I really do like it. My only complaint is that the price is just a little too high for a 850w power supply. If I could do it over again, I would probably go with a cheaper option because it would end up being similar quality but lower price. That being said you won't be disappointed with it.
