Can take a beating
Favorite can opener ever. Opens cans easy, really sharp. Easy to hold once you get used to it. Doesn't need batteries. Great value. Really durable, had this thing for ages, paint is chipping but still opens cans like brand new. Never looking at another can opener. This thing can take some abuse. I recommend it to everyone looking for a decent can opener

My favorite can opener!
I purchased this Japanese can opener because without the moving parts, I have more confidence this can opener won't break as easily. It cuts very sharp, and once you get the method down, you can open cans MUCH faster... also, it's cheaper than a lot of other conventional can openers!! Love a good deal for a better version of a product.

Best can opener I've ever had
I have never had a better can opener than this one. It doesn't have instructions on how to use it, so it may take a minute or two to figure it out, but once you do, it's likely the fastest can opener you'll ever use. Once you figure out the technique, (which according to some reviews is tricky for some people) this thing will absolutely smoke even the electric can opener as far as time taken to open a can.You operate it very similarly to the old military p-38 can openers, however instead of gripping it with just your fingers, it's big enough to hold a lot more comfortably in your hand, and makes it easier to apply the force needed to cut into the can. It would probably be helpful to someone elderly or handicapped, who is having trouble with their hand strength. When I make chili it involves opening several cans of beans, tomatoes, and green chiles, and this can opener goes through them so fast you won't believe it. Once you get a rhythm going it can take less time to open a can than it does to pour out the contents. This is also good for cans that are too big or heavy to use an electric opener for. This thing also has no moving parts to seize up and stop it from working. Finally, it also has a bottle opener in it's design, which is helpful.

YES!!! THIS ONE DOES OPEN CANNED SALMON!
The media could not be loaded. Yes! THIS ONE DOES OPEN CANNED SALMON! It’s a simple but brilliant Japanese design for a can opener. Not ambidextrous enough to take a video while holding it. lol! But, at least, my included photo and video will demonstrate how to hold it/ give the correct movement needed. It will open the toughest can! The blade is super sharp, heavy weight metal- slices through cans like butter. My previous experience with well made US, German, and Chinese designed products failed. From the highest rated and expensive electric to the most basic options, nothing worked to open these heavier cans easily. Having arthritis now and weak fingers didn’t help. It was so painful! All previous can openers not only failed at open the can, but produced dangerous fine threads. The edges will be jagged, but I promise this one works!

My last can opener?
Was looking for a long-lasting can opener that wouldn't skip parts of the lid, which started happening with my last two openers. It took a little practice to get the hang of using this one, but now it's easy. Like someone else mentioned, it does leave the can edges rough. I like that's it's easy to clean, seems really sturdy and well-made, and has no moving parts. Hoping this one will last the rest of my days!

Works fine, and won't break!
After breaking three regular can openers (HOW am I so prone to this???) I decided to see if the internet could give unto me a can opener that wouldn't break.... lo and behold. I love this can opener, but I'm not going to lie, it is a bit of a pain to use, and it had a bit of a learning curve for me. Despite that, I love using this thing.... it's very satisfying see-sawing it back and forth and slicing through the can lid. I also love that it's easy to clean. It hasn't broken yet after a few months of use, and it seems very unlikely to, since it has no moving parts and is all metal.Ultimately, it works just fine, and anyway it's not like using a regular can opener was a piece of cake. It's probably not for everyone, but it's right for me.

A P-38 on Steroids
It's been many years since I last used a P-38.Received my Ganji can opener today, granted, it won't fit in your pocket or wallet like a P-38 will. But it is useful for opening cans and it's easy to use. With a P-38, you need to hold onto the tab so you can twist it to open the can. With the Ganji, the attached handle makes it easier to to use and provides leverage. No need for power, it's easy to store and doesn't take up any space other than in a drawer. You can take it camping with you too.You don't need to worry about gears stripping from use or your can opener bending.Or how about when you buy a new can opener and within a month you're having problems opening cans such as the smooth edge can openers. They work just fine at first, then you start having problems with it not cutting the edge off the lid and having long metal string filings cut off the side which can get in your food if you can possibly get the can open.At least with the Ganji, you don't need to worry about any of those things and it's very useful.
