I recently got a great deal on a BNIB FoodSaver V3460 and was eager to try it out so I ordered an assortment of 11" and 8" rolls (2 of each as Amazon had a great promo on) from Freshlocker.My initial impressions of the bags are that they are thicker than the FoodSaver bags which is great as I want to have a nice thick bag in the freezer. However, the ad copy does say that these are the THICKEST which may be true when the absolute thickness is measured but another vendor's bags (also sold on Amazon) has 7 layers vs. Freshlocker's 5 so they don't have the most layers. NOTE> Even though these bags are thicker than FoodSaver's, the commercial cryovac bags used by commercial meat packers seem to be much thicker.The Freshlocker bag doesn't seem as pliable as the FoodSaver but that may be because it's thicker to begin with or there's a slight difference in the material used. Also, the textured side seems to be a finer and shallower texture than the FoodSaver one which may account for various reviews which state that these bags are harder to use for wet/moist products like meat. Having sealed raw prime ribs and ground beef with these bags as well as the FoodSaver ones, I would have to say that it's not bad for moist products but it's different as the moisture seems to wick up the bag faster which may be due to the finer texture of the bag. Since it comes up faster, it's possible that the seals are harder to make as the sealing area becomes moist faster than with a FoodSaver bag. This seems to be exactly what happened the first time I used the Freshlocker bags as there was a small break in the seal right after the FoodSaver said that the sealing was completed (I can hear the air rushing back into the bag once the clamps were released). I wiped off the sealing area of the bag of any moisture and resealed a 1/2" closer to the edge - during the sealing, I can see the air in the bag getting pulled back out. I now double seal all of my bags.After freezing those prime ribs and the ground beef (using a double seal) a few days ago, none of the seals seems to have failed as the bags are all tight to the meat so unless something bad happens in the freezer, we should be good to go with these bags.One disappointment is that these larger packs of bags don't come with a bag cutter as other vendors do. They should also market one large 100' roll instead of the two 50's as it would be more cost effective for the buyer as there would not be an oddly sized bag at 50'.

I like the thickness of the material and it seals well. A small downside to them is that because it is such a large roll it can't be left in my version of my foodsaver for storage. I have to take it back out and store it back in the box. Not a big deal but i did like being able to leave previous rolls in the foodsaver. Of course as i use it the rolls will get smaller and i will be able to leave them in. The larger rolls make for excellent value.When I asked a question regarding whether or not it has the white strip for writing info i was told no. On the ones i received there is a white strip for writing. Makes labelling things easy.I recommend as a good replacement for the original product.

I bought these when I bought my vacuum sealer. Overall worked well, but I happened to buy a different kind when I needed more. That demonstrated to me that these are in fact a good product, I had many more released seals with the other one. These haven’t been perfect, a few have let air in, but overall the product works very well for the good price.

Very hard to get a proper vacuum seal

Food Saver bags are 4 mil thick (.004"). I measured these bags and they are 3 mil thick (.003") not 4 mil.I had no problem vac packing dry cat food in FoodSaver bags, but these bags developed a slow leak. I won't buy again. The next brand I buy, I will measure the thickness of the bags as soon as I receive them.
