Great Tree!
The tree was beautifully packaged and arrived ahead of schedule. It came with detailed information about care. I planted it in a 22 inch planter about a week after it arrived, and I plan to keep it indoors year round since I live in the NW. I have it in a southeast facing window and have fertilized as advised, but so far it hasn't grown, not even a little. It hasn't died and looks relatively healthy, just hasn't grown in the month since it's arrived. Probably wouldn't recommend this as a house plant, but would definitely recommend buying from this seller if planning to plant the tree outdoors. Update: It has now been a full six months since I've had the tree. I've moved and now have the tree in a West facing window. It has about 10 new leaves and many, many more leaf buds! A few months ago, it was COVERED in tiny avocado flowers, but none of them turned into fruit. The tree didn't fare very well during the winter indoors (and maybe didn't like the move) and lost about 75% of its original leaves. It's strange, the new leaves are about twice the size of the original leaves and more round vs. spear shaped. They're also a much lighter green, although they do look healthy.

No avocados yet
I bought this tree four years ago. Itโs still alive, but hasnโt made any avocados. I expected some during about the third year, but nothing yet. Itโs grown a little bit, but seems to struggle with my climate (Iโm in zone 5). Itโs been in a large pot since I got it, and we bring it inside every winter and outside every spring (but itโs heavy now and a lot of work to move it). When I first received it in the mail, it had a tiny avocado on it (I assumed it was a pretty fresh cutting), but it fell off before it got bigger than a penny. Last year it had a lot of nice flowers, and I was hopeful for fruit, but all the flowers fell off when I moved it outside. Itโs a nice little tree and Iโm still hopeful for fruit in the next couple years. Itโs also a great conversation piece because no one around here has any trees like it!

Great Little Cado from Clifton's nursery
The Little Cado arrived in 5 days to Kentucky. It was very well packaged with a bunch of flowers on the tree on arrival (May 4th 2012). I replanted the tree from the nursery 5 gallon pot to a 7 gallon pot. I used 1/3 top soil, 1/3 Miracle grow potting soil with time release fertilizer, 1/3 sand. I drilled 4 1/2" holes at the bottom of the pot and reenforced the stake with wires, going from the pot to the stake. Soon after replanting, the tree started to loose some leaves. I found out to be normal in the Spring. 2 weeks latter, I counted 27 baby avocados growing. I sadly removed 24 avocados. I wanted the tree energy to produce new growth, and kept 3 avocados for curiosity and food testing. As of now (June 1st), the Little Cado has been sprouting all over the place. I also water it deeply once every other day. temperatures in eastern Ky has been between 55 F as its lowest and 95 F at its highest. The little Cado has taken all the heat with no issues. I also make sure it gets shade, from the car port, from the hard afternoon sun after 3PM. So far, I am extremely happy with Clifton and the Little Cado.

Clifton's Little Cado 5 gal
I have no idea where these 5 star ratings are coming in from, but I use to own a 2.5 acre avocado grove. Very over priced for a 5 gal coming from their CA location to my CA location. The tree was in serious shock, which could be caused by several reasons. I called the customer service number on the packing slip, which was in Pennsylvania?, and simply wanted to know what had or had not been put into the soil before shipping and how long it was boxed up before shipment. Yes the packaging was well done. Important need to know info. If they watered it before shipping (bad idea)but easy fix, but with what? not so easy fix. I needed to know as not to kill the poor little droopy thing. The nice service rep from PA forwarded my Q to Clifton's with the info that I grew Avocados for decades. No response. Tried again (the tree is dying)no response. I have done everything to the best of my knowledge to treat this poor thing and it is barely hanging in there. I give it a 50/50 chance. Good news: I got 3 new leaves after 50 days! But the rest of the tree UGG. I Will update come spring.

WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
When I received my Little Cado it was almost dead. It was no fault of the Nursery;UPS had it sitting in their 100 degree truck for days! I really loved the little tree & was trying to revive it with the help of John from the nursery. The little tree died. When I spoke to John about it he didn't ask any questions & refunded me! This nursery has a wonderful relationship with its customers;something that you hardly ever see these days! I gave this nursery 5 stars because I know that this would have been a beautiful tree if it would had survived. The packing was EXQUISITE~ as is their SERVICE! If you go on to their WebSite they have beautiful everything & very unique trees that you cannot find elsewhere. I will order again when it gets cooler so that it won't suffer again while being shipped in this New Orleans 200 degree Heat. Thank You Cliftons~ I will tell everyone about you!!!

Very, very pleased!
I am extremely happy with this company. I ordered an avocado tree a month and a half or so ago. I guess it was too chilly to ship it because it was in pretty bad shape when I got it. I contacted the seller and he gave me some tips on how to try to revive the tree and asked to give it a month. I babied it but It ended up dying anyway. I contacted him back and told him that the tree died and he sent me another tree. And not only did he send me another tree...he sent me an OUTSTANDING tree!! It is healthy, has lots of leaves and is about 5 feet tall. I am very pleased at this company's customer service and I most certainly will be purchasing from them again.

Tree arrived in good condition with exception of a 1
Tree arrived in good condition with exception of a 1.5 inch section on trunk where bark was missing. After following the instructions sent with tree to leave in pot to acclimate to new climate for a few months, the tree still seems to be doing fine. I plan to trans plant to bigger pot (22") in fall to minimize shock.

BEAUTIFUL!!
This tree arrived well-packed and full of blossoms, and leaves. Just gorgeous! Unfortunately, all the leave have fallen off and the blossoms have dried up and have begun to fall off as well. I'm hoping that's just shock from the trip as it has LOTS of new growth coming in. I'll do some more research to make sure I'm doing everything right and hope for the best! At this point, it looks as though it will make a full recovery over the Spring and Summer. I'll update later!
