How do I know that? Because I, like you, was looking for something that seemed impossible to find. I tried everything that I could think of - I looked at the plastic things that go under your chair at a desk, way expensive and too small. I looked for the clear plastic that you put down when you are moving and don't want to hurt your carpet or get it dirty. I searched for every kind of carpet protector that I could find, and none of them worked. Nothing worked until now... Then I found this Clear Marine Vinyl - 54"- 40 Gauge plastic, sold by the yard and my search was over. Still, I wasn't sure until it arrived. "What if it was too thin," I wondered. "What if wrinkled or slid around on the carpet?" I thought. I needn't have worried. This WAS the plastic I was looking for! In all seriousness, I was looking for a thin, yet strong, clear plastic to place our ferret cage on - that would allow me to protect my carpet, without making the room look trashy and I needed something that I could walk on, but wouldn't wrinkle and that couldn't easily be punctured or scratched through by my pets. So far, a simple order of three yards has been an outstanding choice and has worked very well. It was easily trimmed to the exact shape I needed, using a razor blade made for cutting carpet. It seems to lay flat on the floor very well. In short, it isn't perfect, but it is pretty outstanding for a wide variety of uses. I'm thrilled beyond belief with this product. Shipping was fast, the plastic was rolled up with paper between the layers so it didn't stick to itself and it is crystal clear and thick and flexible but strong. THANK YOU NICE PEOPLE!

This vinyl worked well for making screen covers for my screened in porch. It is thick (but not too thick), clear, and easy to work with, with no creases or other issues. It blocks the wind, rain and snow from coming onto my porch. It was a bit of work making the window coverings, but worth it, as hopefully they will last many, many seasons.

I was impressed when receiving this product. It was packaged in a thick protective casing and had an added vinyl wrap that ensured there wasn't any residue from tape on the actual sheet. It was very easy to unroll, position, and secure. I appreciated the tissue paper layer that could be easily pulled away in sections as I placed the sheet, which kept environmental contamination from sticking to the sheet. The size was exactly as stated. The vinyl is clear and looks great; you can only tell it's vinyl when the light hits it just right.

I liked seeing that this came from Wisconsin! I guess we do make and do something! I decided to do a window replacement on a convertible top and this rol of vinyl worked perfectly! It’s a Triumph TR7 and the convertible top is rather rare and expensive. A new one costs nearly eight hundred bucks, and the only thing wrong with the top my car was a single cracked and broken plastic quarter window. This is the exact gauge vinyl they used in the original windows and the same level of clarity or color or tint or whatever. What I’m saying is that it was an exact factory original match! I cut out the shape easily and slapped it in… ha!! There was a lot more to it than that, but who wants to hear about me going overboard making a vinyl window attach and seal in perfectly like it came from the factory? No? I didn’t think so! Bottom line: it just freakin worked and looks excellent! I saved lots of money fixing this rather than replacing something that is otherwise in perfect condition. Great quality material too! I’m certain this window will last for many years.

This is not what is advertized. You will save money just buying plastic the roll i got was thinner than plastic. One tiny piece in the whole roll was actually what i ordered the rest was thin plastic. I will upload pictures asap. The reason my review was just now is because i just opened it for my front porch and coop.

This was exactly as advertised. Crystal clear and super easy to work with. I used it to replace some eisenglass on two of my enclosure panels. My first time working with this stuff. I was surprised at just how easy it really was. Simple economy brother sewing machines with stock needle was all that I needed.
