Lyman Lead Ingot Mould,Multiple

I picked up this ingot mold to help keep track of soft lead vs clip on weights. Already had a Lee ingot mold and will be using it for soft lead and the Lyman for harder lead. The finish on the mold is very good. And like other reviews after using it a bit I did have to reseat the handle with a soft mallet but the same is true of the Lee. The handle is very sturdy and even with all cavities filled it did not feel unstable. The mold itself is like the other in that to get good looking ingots you would have to pour and remelt half a dozen to get it up to temperature but once it is at temperature it drops a very nice looking even ingot. Being aluminum once you have filled it a few times it is so hot it will take a few minutes to solidify the lead but that is also true of any aluminum ingot mold. All in all the fit and finish is a bit better than the Lee and I feel the price is very fair for what you get. The Lee does have a half ingot feature that may help some but for me is a non-issue as I havent had a need for the feature. I have included a photo of both side by side for comparison of size and of ingots dropped. Bear in mind the Lee is almost pure lead so thats what causes it to have more shine to it. Hopefully this helps someone find what they need. Happy casting!

These molds work fantastic. Just be sure they are on a level surface and you will have nice even lead bars. I purchased a few so I could pour more bars without having to wait for the molds to cool off before dumping.

I just finished casting 70lbs of lead. This mold releases easily without any release agent. It cools the cast quickly, which is nice. Each ingot will weigh about 1 pound. It works great. 700°F is plenty hot to cast lead. Aluminum melts at over 1200°F. So if you heat your lead to excessively high temperatures, this aluminum mold will melt, which would probably be a good thing because if you melt this mold you probably shouldn't be casting lead to begin with.

I'm a bait/ lure maker on my free time. I get lead in bulk from all over. Once I melt it down, clean it up. I make ingots to store for use. It's a great mold. Lead comes out with ease. Highly recommend...

I use these on Easter Sunday to make lead ingots was really happy the way it performed and I really liked how each cube is 1 pound of lead. Very satisfied with product.

Works great and ingots fall out easy without any kind of spray Ingots are close to 1 lbs just have to get the hang of knowing how much to pore I made well over 300 ingots with just one mold only issue is the wooden handle is starting to burn and now falling off One more thing if you pre heat the mold and get all the moisture off the mold the ingots come out looking a lot more smoother Would definitely by again and recommend it to others

The perfect mold for lead ingots. Releases with ease, Size is perfect. Very durable and i would buy again !

Item was exactly as shown and described. Not had a chance to use it yet, but I think it will do the job.I would have liked a larger one but I could not find one. If I come across one I may purchase.

Have a lee one as well but this one is finished off better than the lee and pours better ingots. Lee ones come out a bit ruff looking. Lyman made more solid too
