It aproaches nude photography with such a sensitivity I cannot explain with words. I will be waitting impatiently to the coming numbre of this exquisite publication

Good book, mostly female, nice to see a few men included,good quality and will get others in the series when the price drops!,

I really gravitate to the black and white fine art which I enjoyed this section of the review. The magazine is great for inspiration.

Sur le fond comme sur la forme, le magazine est d'une qualité absolument incroyable. La sélection photographique est cohérente et terriblement pertinente. L'impression et le support sont tout simplement de toute beauté. Une référence.

This magazine is well produced, the binding and paper is first class, coffee table book heavy though not a hardback, No interviews of the photographers who's works are either BW or Color. The works are divided into 5 categories, Exposition, Komplikation, Peripetie, Retardation and Katastrophe. The nudes run from classic, to near erotic (I love the cover shot). There is some poetry, and each photographer is listed where they live/work and their website. No advertising. The last page give list of artists for volume 2, I hope they include artists like Uwe Ommer, Carrie Leigh, Mapplethorpe in their future editions.

Es handelt sich um Band 1 eines jährlich erscheinenden Fotobuchs über künstlerische Aktfotografie.Der Band enthält Fotos von 27 Aktfotografen.Das Spektrum reicht dabei von Arbeiten jungerAktfotografen (und Fotografinnen) bis hin zu klassischen Arbeiten lebender und bereits verstorbener Künstler(innen). Die Fotos sind ästhetisch,die Portraitierten werden sensibel dargestellt. Die unterschiedlichen Beiträge decken das gesamte Spektrum der Aktfotografie als Kunstform ab.Die Aufmachung des Werkes ist hochwertig.Wer ein Buch über den aktuellen Standder klassischen und modernen Aktfotografie sucht,kann hier bedenkenlos zugreifen.Die Reihe , herausgegeben von Matthias Straub,startet damit auf einem hohen Niveau,das es bei den Folge-bänden zu bestätigen gilt.

副題が示すように、新旧の世代による裸体写真を集めたオムニバスフォトマガジン。刊行は年１回（Annual）のペースで、本書はその第１号である。編集はlotto magazinなども手がけるマティアス・シュトラウブ（某H/Mバンドの元ドラマーとは別の人）。版元の独KERBER社は印刷会社を母体としており、本書の印刷製本も自社内で行っている。掲載される写真家は全27名。よく知られた「大家」の名は無いが、写真史的に重要な、あるいは気鋭の作家を揃えている。例えば巻頭を飾るイモージン・カニンガム（1883-1976）は二十世紀アメリカを代表する女流写真家であり、ページの半ばに登場するマダム・ペリペティは「今が旬」のファッションフォトグラファー（にして言語学者）。つまり本書に詰め込まれた写真表現には、新旧の間にほぼ百年の時が横たわっている。他の写真家もそれぞれに個性的で鮮鋭で、単に作風の違いだけでなく「対象物の捉え方＝フォルムかアニマ（魂）か」に大きな差異がある。意外にも前者に注視する撮り手が（新世代を中心に）多く感じられるのは、本書がドイツ制作で、作家もそのエリアから多く選ばれているためか。余談だがタイトルは英語の定冠詞＋仏語の綴りのオペラ。本文ページの眩学的な仕掛けと合わせ、往年の独文学的な「気取り」が面白い。個人的に、本書をきっかけに興味を持ったのはキルシュコフ＋グランボウ（二人組のファッションフォトユニット）。日本のある若手写真家に通じる、やや植物的ながら鮮度の高い表現が魅力的。またちょっと珍しいところでは、クリスティアン・ウィトキン（ジョエル＝ピーターの甥）の作品も観ることができる。質量ともに充実の内容だが、日本では商業的に成立し難いと思われる本書。これでビジネスが成り立つ欧州は、やはり写真文化発祥の地である。ちなみに巻末で予告された Vol, 2 のリリースは2013年９月とのこと。どうか末永く続くことを。 Vol, 2
