Great filter that I was planning to use on the bottom of the Grand Canyon, well it leaks when filtering water...dissapointed.

I ordered the 1-Litre Soft Flask with 0.1 Micrometre Hollow Fibre Membrane for Hiking by the Butie Store because I love hiking and camping. We live in an area that has lots of rivers, creeks, lakes, ponds and a few waterfalls. When kids go snowboarding, skiing, snowmobiling, up here, they eat the snow when thirsty. (So does my family. Low population in our part of the country, means low pollution.) When we go hiking, or I go for a long walk with my Great Pyrenees, I like that I can scoop water from a pond or creek we walk by, and drink, rather than carrying around a full water bottle which will ultimately leak all over me, or if I bring a store bought disposable water bottle, I will drop it on the only sharp rock (or broken ice chunk) within six miles, which will pop it. Carrying this bottle/flask empty and grabbing water on our walk is much easier. The filter is re-usable, as well, for up to 1000 fill-ups. This filter works if using clean, freshwater from rivers, lakes, streams. It does NOT work if using saltwater, like from the ocean. It does not work if the water is polluted, such as oil, sewer waste, spilled fuel, or soapy water. For those, you need a special filtration system. But this filter WILL block over 99% of harmful bacteria, but the source needs to be relatively clean. Durability: This flask is kind of thin; if you scrape some rocks while attempting, you’ll definitely rip a hole in it. Quality: I like that the lid does not leak. That’s a big thing for me. I put the flask down on the table, it flopped over and it stayed sealed. Size: It holds one litre Taste: 1-Litre Soft Flask with 0.1 Micrometre Hollow Fibre Membrane for Hiking by the Butie Store does not have weird taste or anything. Portability: It rolls up when empty, so you can tuck it into your cargo pants, or put it on your dog’s leash until needed. Value for money: I like that the filter can be re-used, over and over. If you do a lot of walks, it should be handy. Is it worth the price? Yes, if you like hiking, but if you don’t do a lot of ‘roughing it’ it might be too expensive. 4 stars.

This is the perfect size for a simple run. I used it on my 3 mile run and it was just the right about of water. Fit perfectly into my running vest. No leaks no smell or taste. Just a quick wash/rinse after every run n let dry should keep it lasting for some time.

These are perfect size for a shorter run! Easy to hold and easy to use mid run !

Even after a thorough cleaning and running the water through the filter several times, it still tastes like silicon. Do not get this as the water tastes terrible, not filtered properly. I went with a different brand.

Overall this is a good bottle of space savings and portability is a priority for you when the bottle is empty. It does come with a water filter which is nice annd helps improve taste and has a cover for the nozzle. The nozzle is a bite valve — similar to a hydration pack. The filter combines with the bite valve means that water isn’t going to just gush out of this. I wish it had a better clip or method of attaching this to a bag. The wrist leash works well if you want to hold it but it’s too long to clip to a bag. You’d think you may be able to clip it on the plastic loop but that’s attached to the lid which will invariably open if you put pressure on it like that.
