I take my sunscreen seriously and am very impressed with Bondi Sands. I first became aware of the brand from a video on YouTube by dermatologist Dr. Dray. She recommended Bondi Sands as a budget-friendly sunscreen which offered real protection. She also liked the way it feels on the skin and said you could use this on the face. I love it. It's hydrating, but not greasy. And there's no white caste. It's as close as I've found to the old formulations of Korean sunscreen before they had to change their formula in the US. Bondi Sands is my new go to. I highly recommend.

I've been searching for years for a decent chemical sunscreen that's easily accessible, doesn't have fragrance, and that doesn't irritate my skin and eyes. I eventually had to start using Canmake Mermaid Skin Gel since it was the only sunscreen I could find that did almost everything I needed it to do. It's a good sunscreen, but it's a bit pricey and can be hard to get since it's made in Japan. I also found that it was a little drying in the winter and would sometimes be very pilly. I came across this Bondi Sands sunscreen and put it on my list of products to try out. I finally decided to give it a try and I'm so glad that I did. It might not be as cosmetically elegant as most Asian sunscreens, but it still dried down to a nice dewy finish. It doesn't sting my face or eyes. No overpowering smell. Goes on nice and smooth without having to be rubbed in for a long period of time. I don't wear makeup on a regular basis but I can tell that it would work wonderfully under foundation. No pilling. Nice and moisturizing. And all for a price that doesn't break the bank. I hope this product is never reformulated or discountinued because it's the only sunscreen sold in the US that actually works for my dry skin. However, if you have oily or even combo skin you probably won't like this product since it can come across as oily on those types of skin. But it's now a holy grail product for me and my extremely dry skin.

Best sunscreen ever. Rubs in easily, no white cast, and it’s hydrating. As long as this is being made I’m not using anything else

I first learned about this sunscreen from a YouTube dermatologist I follow. I like that it's a chemical sunscreen (i.e. no white cast) and that it's fragrance free (I have sensitive skin and a sensitive sense of smell so I've truly come to hate fragrance in skincare). No burning or irritation around the eyes either which is great and I like how easily this sunscreen spreads. That said, I found that this one looked very oily/greasy and shiny on my skin and it didn't really absorb into it as well as I would have liked. Now, I have pretty dry skin, so it wasn't horrible on me, and I typically appreciate skincare that is more moisturizing, but this was a bit much even for me. I think if you have oily skin or dislike sunscreens that make your face or body shiny, this probably isn't the one for you. Also, important to note: I bought this version — the "body" version — as well as a tube of the one labeled for the face, and as far as I can tell they are 100% identical in both the listed ingredients and how they go on your skin. The only benefit of the facial version that I see (it is slightly higher priced) is that it comes in a smaller sized bottle which you could carry for travel without checking your bag. Anyway, I'll keep using this one for now, but I'm on the fence if I'd purchase this again...might see if I can find something that goes on a little less shiny. EDIT: Revisiting this review after a few years. Ultimately, I COULDN'T find a better sunscreen available in the US that worked as well as this one so I repurchased it several times. Ultimately though, for my face I started buying suncreen online from Korea (the kind with the newer filters) and wow...those are like night and day compared to this...SO much more cosmetically elegant. I also found some good alternatives for the body though they aren't as well priced as this one/you have to hunt for ones that are waterproof and come in larger sizes or sizes equivalent to this, but those also go on better/with a better texture than this. In the end, I'd still recommend this sunscreen as a really good option that you can get right away in the US but those K-beauty sunscreens with the newer filters are really on another level.

I needed a reef safe sunscreen for a trip to Australia. I am impressed by this sunscreen. It goes on easily, no white cast or heavy fragrance. It absorbs quickly with no greasiness. My husband, who avoids sunscreen, commented on how nice it felt. I sat in full sun while watching a tennis match and no sunburn or even a tan on my exposed skin. I will be buying this again. Best sunscreen.
