Philips Norelco i9000 Prestige Ultra Shaver with Triple Action Lift & Cut Technology, XP9405/84

I wanted the shaver that could last me the rest of my days(insert grain of salt). I was using a 20 year old Norelco. Nothing wrong with it, just aging & it was time to replace the heads. I wanted the best of the best. Current technologically advanced. I stopped short of the charging case. I didn't see much need for it, for my uses. The razor? It has been amazing. A quick & accurate shave. I have sensitive skin. So I set it to Sensitive & it hasn't bothered me at all. No irritation. It's so nice, I use it almost every day. Previously, I would shave every 3 days. My only gripe, & it's not a big one, is that the cutter is an attachment. It easily installs. We'll see if there's any long term Wear with that. In guessing it'll be OK? Overall, the I9000 Prestige Ultra is as good as I had hoped. Holds & charges, well. Comes with a nice, compact case & does the job amzinginly. Close, comfortable shave. Love it!

I have used Panasonic foil shavers for more years than I can remember. My biggest complaint with them is the constant foil replacement in order to keep a good shave at a high cost. This time I reviewed Braun 900 series and it claimed an 18 month foil replacement which was a positive step so I ordered one. I found the Braun to be a less quality shave--was not as close as the Panasonic and was harder on my skin--thus returned. I had been thinking about switching to a rotary but have read so many negatives vs positives I was very hesitant to do it. One of the GREAT benefits using Amazon was I could order any razor, try it and if I don't like it return it using their gift credit--money is available same day to order another one. Thus with the credit from the Braun I decided to try this rotary as many reviews both here and other sites were all positive. It is taking a little time to get use to the larger size shaving head--it just doesn't feel same in your hand as the foil type--bigger. The light thing is interesting but not sure that I am paying too much attention to it but I do realize when I am not getting the shaver heads as close as necessary to my skin. My skin is somewhat sensitive ( the Braun affected it) but this one is better than all my other shavers--very smooth! As I said it will take time to adjust to a new way of using an electric shaver but I have no intentions of returning it. My 5 o'clock shadow can still be "felt" but is not as visible and so can go out to dinner without shaving again. Still kind of expensive for a shaver but it was a treat for me and some days I feel I am worth it. Note: replacement heads are like $65--about the same as the foil--and are good for 18 months--I get less than 12 months with foil.

I have used Norelco razors for 50 years now. My father bought my first one when I was a teenager. I couldn't shave without cutting my face open. This i9000 razor is the absolute best Norelco I have ever used. I always use soap or foam so i love the i9000 has a setting for that. The cut is wonderful. The razor is quieter than my 5 year old 9000 razor. The grip is a little larger which I like because I have large hands. I can't rate the battery yet because I have not had to charge it in over a week. Don't even think about this one, order one now.

Finished skin is very smooth. It feels not as good as the much older version (round edge, 3 heads fixed together), but the result is better. Easy to clean the heads but a little bit warrying about its sturdiness, the connection is too small, complicate and precise probably will be easy to damage. Haven't try the App, probably will never.
