I looked at a number of replacement letterbox/letterplate items and this was the only quality one for sale at a reasonable price. It was the right choice. It looks good and appears more weighty/sturdy than the cheap alternatives seen elsewhere. Easy to fit, my only issue was that there might be a door thickness in between that catered for by the two different bolt lengths supplied. it was close for me as the long bolts were way too long and the shorter bolts only fitted when I removed the optional additional foam sealant/gasket. Excellent value for a quality item.

Easy to fit, even for a woman! Looks great on my dark wood door and worth paying the extra for something well made and strong, would highly recommend

We bought a composite door some years ago which already had a letterbox fit when it was installed; yesterday the outside flap of the letterbox fell off. This one on Amazon looked from the photos and description to be the correct size and was delivered today. It turned out to be the same model as the old one so the fitting holes were in exactly the right place for the new one which made installing it very simple. The only difference was that the old letterbox had a rubber seal only across the top of the outer plate; the new one has seals on all four sides of both plates.

This item is very nice, but I have never fitted a letter box before, its not as simple as "just taking the old one out and slapping the new one in", even if you did replace the old one with the same make there would problems with the plastic internal sleeve being too long so some sawing would be needed and maybe the screw holds may need moving. After all that it only took me a good hour and a half. However it does look good and the springs are nice and and strong, the only down side is that the post man has to put a bit more effort in to stuff the post through the door.

I was very pleased with this, very durable and fitted in place of the old letterbox, exaxt fit for me. Brilliant

Bought to replace existing letter box which had started to disintegrate.All visible (once installed) parts are metal with a plastic sleeve to go through the door. It has a good weight to it and feels quite solid.The internal sleeve was very slightly taller than the previous one and needed a little persuasion to go through the door but nothing horrendous as the sleeve has a bit of give. My door is 45mm thick and as such sleeve needed no modification to fit in that direction. I pushed the screws through before slotting the outside section in, in order to help locate the screw holes. It took a couple of seconds to get the screws to ‘catch’ and it would be helpful to have an extra hand to either push the box from the outside or hold the internal flap open while screwing (!) but even without assistance it was completely fitted in under 10 minutes.Once screws all tightened the box fits snug against the door with a foam seal and the nylon brushes to keep draughts out. Flap springs are reassuringly firm but not so hard that the flaps can’t be opened by a mischievous 5 year old who likes posting Mummy’s important things out of the letterbox (unfortunately).TL:DR - it looks much better than the previous one and seems much more robust. Was easy enough to fit on my own where replacing a previous letter box but an extra hand would have been good.

This was a similar replacement for one that we’ve had for many years but which was starting to look jaded. Very easy to fit and it looks great. Very pleased with the quick delivery and quality of the letterbox.

I had already ordered another letterbox from another supplier, unfortunately it didn't fit and returned it to Amazon, the refund was back in my Bank within a couple of days. This one was a perfect repacement and fitted perfectly and enhanced my newly painted front door.
