Works great at 10 Gbit.
Well packaged, very affordable and the card works as expected. The Intel chip has good driver support. I used the included half-height bracket in a Supermicro mini tower NAS.

Unless you really know what you're doing, do not install this in a system running Windows 11.
Excellent performance after a bit more trouble than should be necessary. And because of all that trouble I do not recommend this product for systems running Windows 11. Read on for the details. The problem: Windows 11 blocks some features of the drivers that ship with the device. They will install, but you'll be faced with relentless pop-up notifications informing you that windows has blocked part of the drivers from functioning and speed will be limited to 1 gigabit. After you've figured out that that doesn't work, use Windows Device Manager to uninstall the device and remove the dysfunctional drivers you shouldn't have just installed. You'll need to obtain the latest drivers from intel's website, where Intel informs you that only the base drivers are supported on W11. Attempting to use Intel's installation program will fail -- the installer will either do nothing or claim no intel network adapters are present.Instead, install the drivers using Windows Device Manager's "update driver wizard" by pointing it at the directory that contains them and selecting random sub-directories until you discover the right one, then ignoring the "unsigned driver" warning from Windows. And of course, every time you pick the wrong directory, you'll have to start over from the beginning. I'll save you the trouble and tell you it's "PROXGB."Congratulations: now you've got the device working, but intel's driver support agent will nag you to update the drivers. Don't try, the update will fail, and of course the driver support agent will nag you again later about the update. All of this assumes that you have a pcie x8 slot available for installation. Better check your motherboard before you buy. Many newer motherboards don't.I guess the price is right if you've got the patience, knowledge, and a compatible motherboard. In fact, these things probably work just fine under Windows 10 or Linux, but if your running Windows 11 I'd highly recommend getting something else, even if you do know what you're doing.

Perfect TrueNAS 10Gbe NIC
This definitely works with TrueNAS core. Threw it in my server, booted up with no issues on the first try.

Server-grade 10G over RJ45, and the reviews arguing about 2.5G are talking about a different card
Glotrends sells several different variations of network cards, so make sure the review is on the card you are actually looking at. This is the 10gb single copper port X550 card. This went into my server to bring it up to 10 gig, and that is the job this card was built for. It is an Intel X550-AT under the heatsink, which means the OS already knows it. No driver hunt on a Linux based server, it showed up on first boot and negotiated 10 gig over regular CAT6. The virtualization offloads, PXE boot, and the management-bus support are server features. That spec sheet says server, not gaming rig.Two things worth untangling from this review page. First, this listing sells more than one controller, and the X550 and the older X540 are different animals. The X550 version does the in-between speeds, 2.5 and 5 gig, so it can still link fast on a multi-gig switch port. The X540 tops out at 1 gig if it cannot get 10. If the speeds matter to you, check which controller is on the variant you are ordering. Second, the low reviews are mostly Windows desktop stories. Intel treats this as a server part and the Windows 11 driver situation reflects that. In a server OS it is a non-event.The heatsink is huge for a NIC, a solid finned block covering the card, and it is passive. That is built on the server assumption that a chassis is moving air front to back across it. Mine has that and the card has behaved. Stick it in a quiet desktop tower with no airflow over the slots and I would point a small fan at it, 10G over copper makes real heat and no heatsink works without air. Been at 10 gig since the first boot, exactly what I paid for.

Bracket fit my case right away
With the GLOTRENDS ST7215 seated in an open expansion slot, I could still see the RJ45 port from the rear of my case. The indicator lights above the jack were visible there too. During installation, the bracket found the opening right away. I did not need to turn the card around to get it into position. The black heatsink was the first thing I noticed when handling the card. It covers most of the board, with only a narrow green strip exposed near the bracket. That small strip is still visible after the card is installed. From inside the case, the heatsink spans nearly the full length of the card.

Excellent 10GbE performance and great passive cooling, excellent enterprise feature results
The Glotrends 10GbE card lived up to its specifications, easily delivering wonderful latency, super-fast 10 GbE bandwidth, and an enterprise feature set, all at a great price that makes this full-featured card a great value for your dollar. As you can see in my pictures, I tested the card in my homelab on a Ryzen 9 9950X3D system paired with a GeForce graphics card. I tested the device in both Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux, and easily hit 1.10 GB/s of bandwidth (Mokerlink 10 GbE switch to a QNAP NAS with 10 GbE adapter). I ran several large file transfers, including a 350GB file, at 10 GbE speeds, but without a fan on the card; the big heatsink allows the card to run nice and cool and throttle-free, even during these long transfers at full line rate. The card came packaged well, with a nice plastic shell for protection. You also get a smaller I/O bracket for small-form-factor systems and slim servers, along with a CD with drivers and an installation manual. I simply installed the PCie 3.0 x4 card into my PCIe slot, downloaded the Intel X550-AT drivers and ran them, and then everything ran perfectly. The whole process took just a few minutes and was very straightforward. For me, SR-IOV and the VxLAN functionality were a big draw, and these worked great. Overall, this is a great value for the dollar and the card has an expansive feature set that you won't find with cheaper 10 GbE cards designed for consumer systems.

Good, stable, NOT X540
This is so much better than the Intel X540 chip. The ability to support multi-gig speeds up to 10GbE is very nice and expected on modern RJ45 NICs. This Intel chip is much more stable and performs very well. The NIC can still get hot and needs active cooling, but the large heatsink does help with that and passive cooling might be enough if the case has some air flow to get rid of heat inside the chassis. This NIC only needs a PCIe x4 slot which is easy to provide for both server and workstations. The Intel driver is widely supported and has improved greatly over time. It is currently in a good state for stability and performance.I was able to get full 10Gb with Jumbo frames enabled on this NIC in both directions (up and down). Without Jumbo frames enabled, I would get a little less than full 10Gb speeds.I am currently using this for my workstation and I haven't had any issues with it so far and has been stable for me while also giving me fast speeds to my NAS.

Seems to work great with Proxmox. Remember: Supports 10G/1G/100M; does NOT support 2.5G/5G
As described and seems good for the price. Seems to work great with Proxmox. The description calls it out, but I think it's worth repeating... the Intel X540 supports 100M/1G/10G. It does NOT support 2.5G/5G, so make sure you have an available 10GbE switch port to connect this to.

La envían con el disipador con ventilador, y hace un ruido horrible.Se devuelve y encima dicen que no es el producto correcto, cuando son los primeros que anuncian un disipador sin ventilador y envían con ventilador. No comprar.
