My dog looks very clean after I wash him with this. This is now my favorite shampoo to use for them. I think I won't be using anything else but this now

My mini schnauzer has finicky skin and this stuff clears it right up and helps repair his skin barrier.

I tried the MiconaHex+Triz Shampoo on my dog and found a lot to like about it. The product is specifically formulated to address fungal and bacterial skin conditions and also claims to support barrier repair. The 16-oz size is generous enough to last several washes, and I appreciate that it is safe to use on multiple animals, including dogs, cats, and even horses. In use, the shampoo lathers well once the coat is thoroughly wet. It contains 2% miconazole nitrate and 2% chlorhexidine gluconate, along with ceramides and essential oils like lavender and lemongrass. These ingredients seem designed to calm irritated skin while fighting infection. The directions recommend leaving it on the coat for 5–10 minutes before rinsing, which allows time for the medicated ingredients to work effectively. There are a few things to keep in mind. Because this is a medicated shampoo, it can dry the coat more than a standard gentle shampoo. If your pet has sensitive skin or a dry coat, you might need to follow up with a conditioner or limit how frequently you use it. The scent from the essential oils is fairly strong, which might not appeal to everyone. It is also on the pricier side compared to regular shampoos, especially if frequent baths are necessary. Finally, you need to be careful during use and avoid contact with your pet’s eyes or mucous membranes as the label warns. Overall, if your pet struggles with fungal or bacterial skin issues, MiconaHex+Triz Shampoo is a solid option. It seems to deliver on its promise to treat skin problems, and the inclusion of ceramides for barrier repair makes it a well-rounded choice among medicated shampoos. For pets with healthy or very sensitive skin, though, I would recommend using it sparingly or following a veterinarian’s guidance.

USE THIS SHAMPOO AND NOT, I REPEAT, NOT THE MOUSSE!!! You will wish you had listened! We had an 11 week old kitten with ringworm (now 16 weeks at time of writing) from a shelter who had ringworm. The vet had offered us the choice between the shampoo and the mousse. Thinking that this was an easier option, instead of having to bathe a cat ( we have a three year old cat as well and a prior bathing experience was awful with him), we went for the mousse. This is the brand that they gave us - in the mousse instead. With the mousse you have to coat the cat and let it dry, and you do not rinse the mousse off. It needs to be applied every other day, just like the shampoo is a bath with it every other day. This mousse was super strong smelling and left a sticky, oily residue on the kitten that was impossible for her to stop licking. It tasted awful too (we could tell based on her reaction). Whatever the mousse is made of, on an 11 week old kitten (and to older cats with this mousse based on my research), it had a severe reaction with her lungs and within two hours it sounded like she had inhaled mustard gas. Her lungs were crackling and she was wheezing. At first, I was in denial and thought because she was from an overcrowded shelter, maybe it was a URI forming. No. She got better by the end of the next day, but then when we applied the mousse, the same thing happened. She STRUGGLED to breathe. She sneezed repeatedly. It threw her in to bronchial spasms (like an asthma attack). I had to sit in the bathroom with a hot shower running and felt like I was torturing her by applying it. I only applied the mousse one other time before I stopped and just ordered the shampoo (this) on amazon. We waited four days for the shampoo to arrive and by then the wheezing was done. Being worried about bathing the kitten, we bought one of those cat bathing bags you can find on here, that are relatively inexpensive. We used that and this shampoo and it has been absolutely a game changer. The smell is nice and pleasant like fresh laundry, there is no residue and it has no reaction with her lungs. We have been using it for three weeks now and we are pretty sure the ringworm is gone but have a vet appointment soon. I have no idea why they recommend the mousse for cats and kittens when you can find so many cases of bad interactions online and in reviews for it. Especially when cats groom themselves so much and it is so impossible to stop them. Don't make my mistake.

I have an English Bulldog with skin sensitivity and allergies. We finally had him tested and found out he's allergic to cats and tea tree oil. We have two cats, LOL! So the vet recommended we keep up on his shampoos cleaning around the house and controlling the cat's hair and dander. This shampoo was actually recommended by a vet tech and it is a great product. It has all the ingredients necessary to not only clean his coat but treat potential hot spots. It's a great product and all we'll be using going forward.
