Really well written
If you're into making hypertufa pots, you already know that every single maker on YouTube does it differently: different products, different ratios, etc. It's hard for a beginner to know what to do. Enter Hypertufa Containers: Creating and Planting an Alpine Trough Garden. This book goes into great detail with very specific directions. It gives you strict guidelines, then makes a few suggestions for when you want more roughness or a smoother line, etc. It also goes over using molds including sand molds. In addition to the planters, which was my main reason for buying it, the book covers TONS of plants - it gives their latin names as well as common names. These are mostly alpine plants/succulents. I have bookmarked some of the names because the plants were so beautiful in the book (lots of great photography).I deducted one star, which would have been 1/2 star if that were an option. That's because the entire book is geared toward plants that grow in a colder climate, and nowhere did it say that. Maybe the word alpine, I know, but you'd think climate would be mentioned somewhere. Since I live in Florida, I'm sure not all of those plants will work here.

Very Interesting and inspiring
This book is an excellent starting point for making concrete troughs. The author is very experienced in the process, and she includes a lot of helpful warnings about where one can go wrong in the process. She includes everything one needs to make concrete troughs, including more than one method. I enjoyed this book very much.

An excellent book
Previously I have simply made up a mix and coated old butler sinks as planters. (Look good but extremely heavy & non porous walls of course). This book gives great instruction and guidance - but is not just a ‘how to’ but loads of related information on planting and design too.The fibre reinforcing material referenced was new to me but I soon found sone on Amazon.I’ll have several more re-reads as I assemble all the materials & look forward to construction.

Excellent instruction book.
This book gives detailed instructions on how to construct hypertufa containers. It is well written and comprehensive. However, after reading it, I decided that the amount of space required and the equipment needed, plus the cost of buying everything, was not justifiable for making a couple of planters. Good book, though.
