A Fun Way to Learn U.S. Geography — Great for Kids!
I bought this for my 6-year-old to help her learn the U.S. states and capitals in a fun, hands-on way, and it’s been a big hit! The foam puzzle pieces are colorful and easy to handle, and the little flags for each capital city make it extra interactive. She loves putting the map together and reading the fun facts on the back of each piece. The quality is pretty good for the price, and I appreciate that it’s not just a toy—it’s genuinely educational. It kept her attention much longer than I expected, and she’s already memorized way more states than I thought possible. Definitely recommend this for young learners or as a gift for curious kids!

Best Educational Toy!!!
Best Gift!!! This is by far my 3 year old nephew’s favorite toy. He learned all the states and countries at just 3 years old. This toy is both fun and very educational. Every child should get one of these!

Cool, but what's up with Africa and small countries?
I haven't tested these maps yet on my seven-year-old stepkids, but they will be surefire winners. The foam pieces are soft and brightly colored, the flags are fun, and it's a puzzle. I think overall it is very educational, and heck, I like it (because I always seem to forget that the capital of South Dakota is Pierre). My stepkids are really curious about the rest of the world and I'm excited for them to use it. Since I think it overall will still strongly enrich their education, I'm still giving four stars, but here are the things the prospective buyer might want to know. My main issue is with the way Africa was treated on this map. I feel like Africa was an afterthought. There are a lot of capitals missing. I understand that on a world map made of foam, there are physical limitations to labeling and having slots to stick in capital flags, particularly for small countries. However, countries like Sudan, Libya, Ethiopia, Mali, the DRC are not small and do not have their own capital flags. There was plenty of room for little flag slots for Khartoum, Addis Ababa etc. African countries are just as important as any of the rest of the world's countries, so why did so much get overlooked? I'm going to make toothpick flags for those capital cities. I thought that maybe Africa was done poorly on the world map because they want to sell a separate Africa puzzle....Erm, Mapology does not sell one as far as I can tell from their website. One thing you all should know is that for very small countries close together, the maps have shaded areas marked as "countries are here." I understand that there are physical limitations due to the scale and the nature of foam and printing, but I thought they would at least list the countries there, or include a paper map with the information sheets provided. There aren't any. So if you're looking for countries like Montenegro, Suriname or The Gambia you'll be out of luck. I guess I'll break out my Sharpies and sketch in or write what should be there. Again, overall this will be great for my stepkids because they know so little, and it's good for me personally. I still think it is worth buying. Just take the matters I mentioned above into consideration. I for one am purchasing a separate Africa puzzle from another company.

Cards are cool
Bought the map puzzle with flash cards and flags. The puzzle and flags went together as expected. The cards were pretty cool with the hidden answers. You rub to show the answer then the material colors in again on its own hiding the answers again.

Excellent Buy!
This puzzle kept my son busy! he was able to learn about different continents and the countries. The size was kind small, and some pieces could easily be mistaken for trash while cleaning kids play area. I would recommend it for curious and eager to learn type of kids because they will spend hours instead of electronics.

No Hard Backing
It’s a map. It’s nice it comes with the capitols of all states on little flags plus a description of a relevant landmark. Somehow it just felt cheap to me though. You’ll probably like it, but I didn’t. It’s also impossible to lift without all the pieces falling out if you don’t keep the cardboard backing that comes with it. Idk but this wasn’t my favorite. It needed a hard back of some kind. It’s also too big when you consider that many of the smaller states are combined (like NJ, DE, and Maryland) into one piece instead of actually being individual pieces, which they could be, based on the size of the thing. Basically it’s just this big, lightweight, unwieldy box of map pieces at this point, the box for which can’t be discarded and that has little flag pieces all over the floor.
