It works easily! Caught 2 rats!
I set up two of these Ucatch traps after buying them in November 2025, glad it came in a pack of 2. At first, I didn’t see any results, the food was gone, but no rats were caught. I honestly started doubting whether I’d even set them correctly or put the bait in the right place, especially because I left them alone for a while and forgot about them until December. When I remembered, I went back and watched the setup videos to see exactly how to load the bait and position the trap. This time, I paid close attention and made a mental note of how I set them to ensure that I press on the back so it can snap when a rat enters. Within about a week or thereabout, they caught two small rats! The rats were pretty small, but thankfully I could see the tail from outside but not the bodies. I had previously seen rats in my garage months ago, no idea where they came from, freaked me out! It’s getting colder in Minnesota so they probably found a way to get in for warmth. After a while I stopped seeing them, even though I still noticed poop droppings, they had damaged one of my fur winter coat. That made me suspect they were still around. Sure enough, Ucatch got them!! When it was time to throw them out, I was honestly scared and grossed out. I thought I might have to pop the trap open and physically handle the rats. On December 11, 2025, I watched the instructions video again and realized how easy it actually was: I just pressed down, released the rat into a trash bag outside, and that was it. I made sure to do it outside, just in case (God forbid) anything was still alive and tried to get into the house. Thankfully, all was fine. I rarely write reviews, but I had to come back and say these traps really work. For the second round, I added more peanut butter (same PB I used to catch these ones) in the bait compartment (I see they sell replacements on Amazon but I don’t need those now, just in case there are more rats lurking around. I didn’t need to clean the trap; I simply opened it to drop the rats into the bag. There was no smell, no noise, and it functioned exactly as expected. One important note: when I was trying to reset the trap after realizing it hadn’t caught anything the first time, I was fiddling with it to see how it worked inside, and it snapped on my finger and fell to the floor. I ended up with a small bruise on my right thumb. So don’t play around with it once it’s set, watch the video and follow the instructions carefully. Interestingly, one rat that died ate the bait fully, while the other one that also died hadn’t eaten much of the peanut butter at all. I had put a generous amount of bait, so maybe it only got a taste before it was caught. I absolutely hate dealing with rodents, but this product made it manageable. Great product!

Great battlefield tool for rats
These work well. My rodent of choice is the roof rat (rattus rattus 🐀 ). These things work well, even on the BIG ones that barely fit in the opening. Easy to bait and set. Lots of room to “scent” the openings making them irresistible to the rat. On occasion, you will find one still quite alive. Just drop the trap and all in a bucket of water (walk away and avoid the death thrall). Get a 4 pack 2 will never suffice. This look sturdy and should last a while. Definitely safe for curious dogs. I’m at war and with 7 confirmed kills in 8 days, I’m making a difference. FYI my theater of war is my backyard patio and kitchen. Happy hunting! Nor Cal

These are great
I like these. Not that I like catching critters - it’s just an unavoidable necessity. They worked just fine in my barn. Better than fine, actually. They caught mice and smaller rodents as well. No snapped fingers, no threat to dogs, cats or any larger animals. Easy to clean & bait. We live out in the country, and we have LOTS of small rodents of every style. I try to peacefully co-exist with them - as long as they stay outside. But when the come inside, I’ll use these to keep things in order.

Effective and easy to set up
While unfortunate, these traps worked great, better than our 3 cats. At 11 pm my teen found a big rat in our pantry which scurried into the house. We immediately ordered these on Amazon, didn’t sleep much that night. The traps were delivered around 5 pm. We set three traps using peanut butter, very easy to do. Within a couple of hours rat was caught and disposed of. Definitely would recommend.

Effective But Needs Securing
I was looking for a replacement for an old mouse trap and decided to try this rat trap for indoor use. I bought it a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised that it actually worked. We caught a rat just a few days after setting it up. The trap barely caught the rat at first, but it was strong enough that the rat couldn’t escape. Just like the description said, it was easy to release the dead rat, which made cleanup simple. One issue I ran into was that the trap isn’t heavy enough to stay in place on its own. The rat ended up dragging it around the area, so I had to go look for both the trap and the rat. I ended up using Velcro to secure the trap and prevent it from moving. After that adjustment, it worked great. Overall, it’s effective and worth the buy, just make sure to secure it properly.

They work!
There’s an abandoned house next door that has a nest of rats inside. They come into my garden, compost and raid my bird feeders nightly, sometimes even in daylight. I have chickens and want to keep the rats away without using poison, so I place these all around my yard. They work! A little peanut butter in the middle and I’ve caught 2 or more a day for quite a while now. They are large rats mostly, some a little smaller, and these traps do the job quick. They don’t seem to suffer any. I simply use my foot to open to lever, remove the expired rat and the trap is reset and good to go. They don’t even leave a mess behind! I love animals and hate to do things like this usually, but I don’t want any issues with disease or injury to my chickens or kids. And I definitely don’t want them getting in my house! These are worth the money. I’ve bought them before and can say they last! I’m in a hot, humid area with heavy rainfall seasonally and they have held up without breakage or rusting.

Hit and Miss, some work great others don't trip well. QC is not very good.

Good trap for rats
Easy to bait and there are extra bait reservoirs for quick refilling. Does not work for small mice, but I did catch a big mouse. There is a hole to thread twine or wire through to secure the trap to a location. This prevents partially caught rodents from dragging the trap off. Easy to clean and set. Design discourages cats, dogs, and squirrels from getting hurt. If it were heavier, I would give it five stars. I doubt if it would last long outside.

First off, I never write reviews the same day I get the item. I've had this for less than 8 hours now. I've caught 3 rats so far. Am I impressed???? Yes, so, don't believe or put much weight on anyone that says they don't work. I've tried several (some much more expensive methods) and NONE have worked at all. I've caught NO rats at all with the other traps I've tried. This trap... unbelievable. 3 in the first few hours of use. Update, I'm up to 12 over a period of a month of using them on and off. Fill the small reservoir (from underneath) with some cheap peanut butter...and I also smear some on the 'plate' on the inside to increase the 'temptation' factor. And presto, check back within 24 hours and you'll likely have a fresh catch. I tested it with a stick, it's fast and hard, and will perform it's job quickly. They won't know what hit them. Rats are about the only animal I can think of that doesn't bother me too much to see go. Be patient with it, and ... it's a good idea to drill a small hole somewhere in it and attach a wire to it so that it can be tied down. We have coyotes here always looking for a free meal to take on the road with them....so, tie'm down. An update after a few months... these traps keep on keepin'on...caught 6 more the past few days after noticing droppings in our greenhouse. But..the 'trap lock' plastic mechanism has given out on both, I'm not surprised, the trap does work well, and does the 'kill' fast and efficiently, but.... using plastic parts in places where they will give out over time...well, that's just bad design. So, at this point, they are going to thrown out since they won't 'close' or 'set' anymore. Great while that lasted..but now... they're landfill...

Caught the rat!

Yup it works, Years ago, I purchased something similar, with a different company to get rid of Mice out of an apartment I lived in. The mice were able to lick the bait off the trap without triggering it. THIS trap, works really really well. I like that you unscrew this 'dime size' bait filler at the bottom of the trap. I put peanut butter in it, screwed it back into the trap and set it. I caught a rat rather quickly. Not sure exactly how long it was, as I set it up around 8:00pm outside, along the wall of my house/deck and I cleaned the trap out around 9:00am the next morning. Even though I used disposable gloves and an empty garbage bag to dump the body in, you don't physically touch the dead rat, its an easy release on the back of the trap, then you can reset it again. The only downside is that I caught a squirrel in it as well, and that really upset me. I know squirrels are considered designer rats, but it concerned me that I could end up catching chipmunks etc. Hopefully I've caught the one rat, but I will have to see. Not sure if Rats are loners or they have 'friends'. But I do highly recommend this product. I did try the humane trap and release cages, but if the rat can get their nose through a small hole, then they can fit their whole body through it as well, and thats what happened with the big wire traps I had purchased through amazon. I don't like to 'kill' animals, but having a rat in my garden was pushing it. This is also a 'faster' way of killing the rat. No poison, always a concern that a cat or a dog would eat the rat and they would injest the poison as well. It's a 'fast kill'. Clean, no chemicals, just an 'ewwww' moment when you first see the rat corpse in the trap.
