Yes, you can use any brand of bottles.

Does water just keep pooling when you add 40 ml each time? That’s what appears to be going on with mine…. In other warmers I’ve used it evaporates.

Yes, it doesn’t evaporate all the way. So after the water cools, I’ll empty it and add 40 ml each time I want to warm up a bottle.
