When you first get open up and let it air ought- I noticed a slight smell but once Aird out no smell at all and i've had mine for almost a year , It's my Best Friend I use almost everyday from my feet to my face and Head. Im now looking at the full body one. I also purchased to use on my Deina Deal FAT FLUSH Treatments a natural lipo suction Treatment I Created as I work each section of body I use the Red light to prevent swelling and healing. My 84 year old dad fell tore his Subscapularis and his rotater cuff he cant have surgery so we are doing Softwave /shockwave and red light pad everyday and he is improving after 5 weeks and he is using to help the swelling in his feet. I Recently bought another Red light pad for my sister who fell and fractured her knee. I love it everytime i use I can feel my body recover. Works great and very warm and relaxing.

Opening the box, the strong synthetic smell was obvious. It was too strong! It smelled like a rubber car tire. So I let it off gas a few days. It improved slightly. I tried the pad anyway and in one day I felt a lot more energy. So I like the lights part of it. But I gave it 3 stars for the bad smell. Else i would've given it 5 stars. Would an American product have smelled better, or had no smell? I wish I knew.

This worked good for the first several months and then stopped. Had a one year warranty but getting a hold of the company was basically impossible, no phone number on their website and they never returned any of my emails. It failed where the the cord plugs into the mat, I own an appliance repair service and have been a technician for over twenty years, I opened it up today to look at the electrical connection and found that one of the wires had had come off the plug as it had the most microscopic amount of solder where the wire was connected to the plug, I resoldered it and it is working again but what absolute junk! Horrible quality and non-existent customer service! Don't waste your money!

I use it almost every day. It helps with my aches and pains.
