Criello USB C to 3.5mm Headphone and Charger Adapter

This worked out wonderfully. My husband was able to repair his headphones and is now back to listening to his radio talk shows and to YT on his phone. Thanks and God bless you.

This is a solution to a problem. No 3.5mm port to use your headphone is solved by usung the USB-C port. The device is a pass thru, so use a USB-C port and the device has one also. So you don't lose a port. The device's 3.5mm port worked with all my wired headphones. It's white so it blends in with all the other Apple stuff. Simple and works. No loss of sound quality.

With an older car that only has an aux plug, I needed a new aux/charger adapter after upgrading my phone. I had my pricey Belkin adapter for years and I loved it. Thinking nothing of downgrading to a more affordable option, I decided to try this one out. It charges your phone for sure, but I have to max out the volume on my car just to hear my music at a decent noise level. On top of that, since my car also does not have Bluetooth or any hands free option to take calls, I could take calls with no issue hearing the other person through my car’s speakers when I had my phone plugged in with the Belkin. This one? Absolutely no sound. I hate driving with headphones in and had to quickly dig them out at stoplights in order to hear a conversation since this adapter didn’t work for a simple phone call. It may be user error, but I’d like to just plug my phone in with no issues hearing my music or receiving a call. I’d rather spend the money on a decent brand that I know works rather than the more affordable option.

This adapter is a convenient solution for phones without a headphone jack. It lets you listen with wired headphones while charging at the same time, and the two-pack is great for keeping one at home and one in a bag or car. The cable is compact, easy to use, and works well for everyday music, calls, and charging.

I want to use Garage Band on my iphone to quickly capture vocal harmony ideas. This requires a metronome to line up the multiple tracks, but I don't want the click track audio embedded in the vocal track the way it would be if not using headphones. Yet, using Bluetooth headphones introduces such a latency that it's impossible to line up the vocal tracks at all. After spending so much time messing around with this that I lost the idea and all inspiration or motivation, I decided to seek out a way to connect headphones to the iPhone with a wire instead of Bluetooth. The good news is, this works for that! The bad news is that it won't let me use the phone's microphone for audio input while this is plugged in, and my headphones are studio cans from 2013 and don't have a microphone built in. So wahmp wahmp. There's the second little plug that I think might be for a mic? Idk. I ended up just buying a pair of USBC-wired headphones with a built-in mic to use for the Garage Band use case. I kept this adapter however, because it lets me hear phone audio using my studio headphones which have vastly superior sound quality vs any other setup. I have several pairs of Bluetooth earbuds, two pairs of Bluetooth headphones, and now the aforementioned USBC-wired headphones that I bought, and they all sound like toys compared to a regular pair of jack-wired headphones plugged into the phone with this adapter. And those don't even need to be charged or drain my phone of battery at all. So for travel and walking on the treadmill, or any other scenario where I want to listen to music with high quality over-ear headphones, I'll be using this adapter with my good old fashioned jack-wired studio headphones from 2013. I can't speak to whatever the other little plug does since I haven't messed around with it, but if I do, I'll update this review with my findings. Giving four stars instead of five because it doesn't do what I bought it to do, at least not without having to buy a USBC mic which I was trying to avoid, but it is useful for other things that it does do well.

I've got a 2010 Toyota with no Bluetooth. So I old school it and plug my phone in the auxiliary. I used to choose whether charging my phone or listening to my tunes was a priority. No I don’t have to. I can charge and listen to my tunes at the same time. Great accessory.

I'm disappointed with the Criello USB C to 3.5mm adapter. My phone (Oneplus 8t) plays through the adapter into my earbuds until I plug a USB charging cable into the C jack next to the 3.5mm jack. Then the audio switches back to the phone instead of the earbuds. I bought the Criello 2-pack and they both behave this way. It defeats the purpose of listening through the earbuds while simultaneously charging my phone. On my laptop (Dell Latitude running Linux), the Criello sends audio to the 3.5mm jack, but plugging in a USB C charger cable does not charge the laptop, though audio continues through the adapter. I also have a more expensive BENFEI adapter and it works as expected on both devices.
