Zendo Meditation Headband

I was a big fan of the original Zendo, but this new version is better. As someone who bought the past version on Amazon and used it for a while, I can really say that the improvements in this new Zendo made a noticeable difference in both comfort and effectiveness. I wrote a detailed review on the last Zendo on Amazon and I wanted to follow it up with this one. The new headband is so much better than the old Zendo that you had to use sticky patches. The old one was great, but this one just feels better on my head. The pads on this one are biodegradeable which I LOVE. The pulses feel smoother, helping me get into a relaxed state even faster. It’s like they fine-tuned the technology to make it more effective, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. I have been loving mode 3 so far and it feels good on my skin. I used to have to charge the old one pretty often, but this one lasts a lot longer, which is a huge plus for someone who uses it daily. I haven’t had to charge mine yet. Pairing with my iphone was pretty straightforward and the app had a good user guide. I already knew the basics from the last time but this was way better and the updated controls are much easier to navigate. The meditation experience itself is nice. After about 6 minutes of putting it on, I feel my mind settling, and the effects have been pretty amazing. I have tried Muse in the past and other meditation devices but this Zendo blows them out of the water. If you liked the original Zendo, you’re going to love this upgrade. And if you’re new to it, this is the perfect version to start with!

The product seemed to work, but failed after about five (5) uses. Initially, it was not clear that pads were a consumable that would need to be replaced. I still would have purchased. Unfortunately, the product failed after about five uses. I suspect this particular item was simply defective.

I have used Zendo version 1 for a couple of years, so I was excited to try Zendo version 2. It’s way easier to use the new type. It comes as a headband with 20 pads that fit right in the holders. The new zendo feels more high quality. So my main point is the new Zendo is easier to use than the older version and has the same consistent effects. When I meditate with Zendo, I drop into a deep sense of being and peace. I’ve tried MUSE and do not find the neurofeedback to be all that helpful. Zendo just gets me in the zone. I have experimented some, and found I can Zendo and subsequently use MUSE and find my brain waves hit the meditation activity much easier.

I did a lot of research on Zendo before buying one. I looked into this company and its founded by doctors and neuroscientists that did research on the technology before they made this system. I decided to give it a try and have used it about 5 times now. The packaging is beautiful and reminds me of buying an apple product. The headband, per the user guide, is a current at less than 2mA. I researched that tDCS at 2mA and lower are the most common currents used in many studies using direct current stimulators, which makes me feel more assured in the product. The headband is elegant with the control unit embedded in the headband with all the electronics contained here along with two pad holders where pads are placed. The pads are apparently made of tree pulp, which is a positive in terms of waste reduction. I found it easy to follow the app steps of how to use Zendo. I prefer not using the app as a I have a regular meditation practice. I decided to just start with mode 4, but the instructions tell you to try each of the modes to find your best. I found that I settle physically much quicker and my thinking during meditation is reduced. I chose to focus my attention on my breath and find it easy to bring my attention back to the breath using zendo compared to without zendo. I was curious, and so far I’ve found this product delivers.

Gym friends are right! One of my gym friends was telling me about Zendo and how much she loves using it. I decided to buy one and try this out for myself. Wow, this device really works. Within minutes of sitting down and using Zendo, I felt super relaxed, my mind was quiet, and afterwards I felt ready to take on the rest of my day. I will be using this regularly after trying it a couple times now. For me, the only weird thing is the warm, tingling sensation of the pads on my forehead that I mostly feel over the first minute and then I don’t really notice it any longer. I think that’s how I know it’s working, but it’s an unfamiliar sensation.

The zendo headband has changed my meditation practice. I've been using it almost daily since getting it (super easy to take on and off) after a few seconds I forget that I've got it on. I haven't really used the app, though seems pretty intuitive. Also, if any of the developers are reading this, i don't know if it's because of my head size, or bone, or what, but, mode 1 and mode 2 don’t really do much for me. Would be cool to be able to manually change these settings in the future. So far, so good, highly recommend. I added a video so that you can get a feel of the packaging and headband. It looks more like a macbook pro in design/packaging; feel like I got more than what I paid for which is nice.

You know, this system just doesn't work for me. I've migrated over to Muse (which is no longer available on Amazon). One thing to consider with this is that the pads used as part of the band are a disposable item and you therefore have to keep buying them as you use this. The box includes enough for 20 sessions, but I didn't really like the idea that I was going to be stuck purchasing wet cotton pads indefinitely if I wanted to use this system. The band does sit on the head well, without moving but the app is a little buggy. Product support is good, though.

I’m not a big meditator, but I was looking for better ways to relax. Meditation apps have never worked for me so I thought this may be better. This put me in the chill zone at mode 3. I found it easy to use. The app syncs the headband and I follow the instructions. Glad I found this device. It's important that you do have to buy more pads, but if I can feel this good it's worth it.
