i've tried many shower filters with hand-held wands, and this is by far the very best system i've ever used. we had been using another filter system for many years, and found it continually clogged, eventually reducing the water flow to a trickle. i was motivated to try this system, and i am absolutely delighted with its performance so far. there's no chlorine smell or feel to the water, and i've found the different options with the shower head to be great. the water flow, after about a month, is terrific, with the understanding that all water filtering systems reduce flow somewhat--if you're looking for a shower blast, you won't get it from a system with a filter. i will say this is the best system i've ever tried, with an easy install that took only minutes. my wife and i are tremendously pleased with it, and recommend it.

We have had the Water Chef for about 4.5 months. Love it! Instant improvement to my skin and hair. Easy install. Over time we had some issues with loss of pressure and leaking from the shower head itself. But I called the company and received excellent customer service. Anticipating receipt of a new unit to correct the problem. Can't wait to receive the new one. Will review again once we have it.UPDATE 2/15/2013:We have the replacement Water Chef part and it works better than ever! Our first unit failed at the point where you adjust the spray. Just leaked like crazy and became ineffective. I called the company and got excellent customer service. Water Chef replaced our first shower head with their improved, newer/newest model. I believe they really care that their products work as promised and last. Great concern for quality and great customer care. I highly recommend the Water Chef to everyone. SO good for hair and skin.

I recently moved into an apartment that has hard water. I could solve the problem with the laundry by using Calgon, but showering was a problem. I have dry skin to begin with and hard water and soap really was wrecking havoc with my skin. Hard water doesn't rinse off the soap residue. But the real problem was my hair. Just like soap scum not rinsing off my skin, shampoo doesn't rinse out thoroughly either. After about a month my hair was "gummy", dull (I have grey/white hair and it stopped shining!) and flat. I looked online on how to combat hard water with shampooing and it was recommended an emulsion of distilled water and apple cider vinegar. Works well, but smells it is also hard to warm up the vinegar rinse so it was a cold shock. The smell disapates but It's a pain to have to resort to this method of getting the hair clean. I looked at Amazon (my go-to place) and I saw this filtration system. I decided it looked like just what I needed! I couldn't install it myself because the original showerhead was "cemented" on with plumber cement, so maintanence did it for me. I LOVE this showerhead! I found no problem with the strength of water stream. I keep mine on one setting. I love the fact that the "wand" separates easily and is curved in such a way that it reaches parts of my body without a lot of maneuvering. I looks great, too. I would highly recommend this product.

This showerhead filter is good quality, works, and looks nice (although it doesn't match our pipe... oops). It was also really easy to install. We did not need to use the included tape or remove any flow restrictors. The water pressure feels the same as our old shower head. The only thing we had to use a tool for was the screw on the hinged piece that holds the showerhead. It was loose, and due to the weight of the showerhead, drooped a little. A twist with a Phillips head fixed that, no problem! It's large, but not too low in our shower, even for my 6' boyfriend. The hose length is also very long... perfect for doggie baths. There are 4 settings (two "needle" and two "massaging" or whatever you would call more concentrated flow). They are easy to switch between and the switch feels sturdy. We have only had it a few days but the difference in water quality was immediately noticeable. My boyfriend was having issues with very dry hair due to the quality of our water and I was dealing with scalp irritation and dry skin. I will say that I do have sensitive, dry skin, so I suspect I will always have these issues... but they were worse than usual! After installing this filter, his hair is soft again and I don't feel like I need to coat myself in lotion immediately after stepping out of the shower. My skin and hair are softer overall and I also feel like my shampoo rinses cleaner. I am a convert and we will definitely be using this shower head for a long time to come. Also, it seems like it will be easy to change the filter; I unscrewed the compartment just to check and it was simple to open up. Replacement filters are also reasonably priced and available on Amazon. Overall, it's not a *miracle* or anything, but I'm very happy with this purchase!

In a time where quality and customer service are nearly extinct, it's wonderful to deal with a company that stands by its product. I have had my Water Chef shower system since 2015 and couldn't be happier. I change the filters as directed, but recently began having water pressure issues. Since the filter was relatively new, I figured maybe the system was simply getting old and needed to be replaced. I purchased a new one which was ready in the box for when a plumber visited my home to fix something else. He removed the filter and showed me the shower now worked fine, and that the problem was with the filter. When I called Water Chef, the associate was very knowledgeable about the causes of a clogged filter, explained it to me, and sent me a re[placement filter. He did not try to just sell me a new system. Luckily, I had not taken the new shower system from the box and easily returned it.When a company genuinely cares about it's customers, that's when they get me as a loyal customer.
