I’m new to the rc world, so where would you plug in the battery power to this receiver, would it be in one of the 3 aux channels ?

Hi, you need to plug the ESC(electronic speed controller) in the receiver. Your battery power should plug in the ESC to keep the voltage.This R6FG receiver support 4.8--10v.

Can i use this remote on a new bright 1/10 police car r/c with 49.86 mhz?

Sorry, you can't. This controller is a 2.4GHz transmitter, so it won't work with a 49.86 MHz RC car. You need to go for their factory transmitter with the corresponding frequency.
