Much much better than cheaper types. It’s really soft. It feels nice against your skin. It does a great job of covering up all areas including lower areas of your neck, depending on which way you wear it. I wear it at a 90° angle from how the model is wearing it in the picture because I need the lower neck by my shoulders covered.

A bit tight but I know it will stay in place. The front and back tails are 'different' but practical, especially the back of my neck. Would like to have it in black.

This is a great product. Does just what it says on the tin. And when I climb into a broiling hot car in Texas and drive around without air conditioning, this fabric is breathable enough that it's not an extra burden. BUT. As other reviewers have said: you gotta really want it. Getting in and out of this thing is a CHORE, and I have some bad news if you had any illusions about your facial sunscreen/hairstyle/makeup still being in place after you work it on or off of you. (Also I have herniated discs in my cervical spine, so wrestling with this garment can be literally painful.) If they would design this with a soft flexible strip of velcro down one side so the on/off process would be *wrapping yourself in and out of this* instead of repeatedly smothering your face with a long fabric tube, LIFE WOULD BE SO GOOD. My only other quibble is that unless you're wearing a shirt collar that's very close to your neck, at the bottom this leaves exposed parts of your neck/shoulder where it splits at the sides. Which is perfectly logical; you can see the design in the product photos. I just didn't realize it would be an issue for me. Unlike some other reviewers this stayed up well enough for me. I have a pretty long and slender neck, went with the S/M, and am satisfied with the staying power; in my experience, it bunches up enough to hold itself up. In sum: good product, annoying design choices were made.

The XL is indeed big enough for a 7 7/8 head size. The real selling point of this gaiter is the front and back bibs which keep it tucked into your shirt, and prevents sunburn at the collar-line. The problem is that the fabric is heavier than I expected. It’s essentially Jersey material similar to a t-shirt, which makes it hotter than others, holds sweat, and stretches out after a few minutes wear. The collection of sweat is a disappointment as it leaves a spot that’s wet far longer than my sun-blocking shirt. If this was a medium weight synthetic material with the bibs, it’d be perfect.

Great product. Keeps the sun off my skin, especially neck area.

I work in the sun all day and use gaiters to protect my neck. This is the first of this brand I have tried, and it did not go well. I noticed right away the fabric is thicker(think heavy tshirt) than my other gaiters and was concerned about it being breathable. The temps were in the 60s all day and with this on, I felt like I was overheating. I wetted it thinking that would help, but it warmed fast and was soon too hot again. I like the fit and cut, but the fabric was not cooling. Maybe it would be good in 40 degree weather, but that’s not what I needed. Disappointing.
