Awesome projector.
First impression was very good. I am a picture and sound enthusiast and I didn't want to spend that much money on a projector cause my main setup for movies is an 80" QLED 4k tv, I wasn't expecting that much as I only wanted a device that could play movies in my room from the comfort of my bed. However, this thing is awesome, colors are amazing for a projector that is 7 times cheaper than my tv, it could be a little more vibrant but still very good. Picture quality is very good, not 4k but it does a really good job. I was not expecting anything about the sound, good thing I didn't buy a sound bar as I wanted because the sound quality is surprisingly good. The only thing I didn't like is that the fan is kinda noisy, if the volume is lower than 25 percent you hear the fan more than the movie. But if you increase the volume you don't focus that much in the fan noise. If you want professional picture quality you won't find anything at this price, you may want to increase the budget. If you want a really good projector within this price range get it without hesitation. If you want professional audio quality you can get a sound bar. I will update, but so far, for me it is a 10/10 product. If you still have doubts you could check the YouTube channel "The hook up" he analizes this projector and compares it with similar products within price range. This one is clearly a winner. I forgot to mention the packaging, what an beautiful way to present a product. 10 points to the manufacturer.

Extremely impressive projector for the price!
I am pretty stoked about this projector. I have only had it briefly but it has left a huge impression on me. Let me start off by saying that I am a home-theater buff. I love it but don't have the money to be turning a room in my home into a $10,000+ dedicated home theater. I have been building my components for almost a decade and am finally fairly happy with what I have now. Up until recently I have been using a high end 75 inch 4K TV along with an 7.2.4 AVR setup and have been happy with the results. Despite this I have always felt like something was missing. The picture quality of the TV is exceptional and the sound system is amazing. Still, there was just something that I hadn't been able to put my finger on. I have a somewhat ghetto home theater setup in my basement. It shares the space with my fitness equipment. That space has a ceiling mounted projector and a 100 inch screen that I put together 5 or 6 years ago. I was always amazed at how immersive that large of a screen looked but the rest of the room left a lot to be desired. I recently added height speakers to my living room receiver setup instead of the up-firing ones I had been using previously. Because the significant other said "no more holes in the walls" I was left to come up with a creative solution for height speakers. The by-product of this was I had a setup where I could mount a full-sized projection screen in front of my tv. It is manual pull-down screen for now but I may invest in something more permanent and more expensive in the future. I currently have four projectors now that I added this Elephas unit to the mix. My first was an Artlii projector which was decent for when I bought it and has served me well in the basement over the last 6 years. The picture quality was solid but the noise level of the fan is fairly high. I also snagged an Epson projector from a local high school that was selling them off after a tech upgrade. The epson is incredibly bright but the resolution is somewhere between 720 and 1080 p and it doesn't work with my receiver for some reason. I also purchased a Mirroir Pro 810 projector a couple of months ago that I have been tinkering with. I loved some of the more modern features on it (automatic keystone, smart features, etc...) but for my specific application/setup it just wasn't giving me the wow factor visually. Enter the Elephas W1K. I watch Youtube all of the time and watched a comparative review of current Amazon projectors under $500. I highly recommend his channel (The Hook Up). He did extensive testing of everything that these projectors have to offer from picture quality (which the Elephas won even against models costing twice as much), functionality, smart features, power consumptions, etc.... So, wanting a better overall visual experience I ordered it. I knew that if it didn't live up to the hype I could always return it since it is Amazon after all. It lives up to the hype. It is super easy to setup and connect all of your favorite streaming apps. Everything is very responsive. Of course I am not really using any of the built-in smart features as I have it connected to my AVR. Still I set them up anyway just for peace of mind. I am really blown away by the picture quality. The room I have the setup in can be light-controlled to an extent as I have blackout curtains but light does leak into the room as it is an open room on two sides. Still the picture quality is very impressive even in a moderately lit room. In complete darkness the picture is almost identical to my $1500 tv. The colors are great and I do not miss the 4k resolution since the image is so large and immersive (actual screen size with this setup is around 95 inches). I have yet to run into anything negative with this projector and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for exceptional performance at a relatively low price point. Edit: Just a quick edit. I purchased an inexpensive 120 inch ALR screen to try with this projector. Oh My! I loved this projector before but with the ALR screen the visuals are beyond stunning with one caveat. You need to be perfectly centered in your seating position with the screen. If you arenโt then there is quite a notable drop off in visual performance. But, again, if you are centered, the visual experience is like nothing I have ever experienced even from the more expensive TVs. Super bright, Balanced but impressive contrast and the colors pop without being overly saturated. The video attached to this review is with the standard screen. The pictures are with the ALR screen.

Great picture with fine tuning
Solid sub $200 projector (with the 35% discount at checkout). Been using a DBPOWER projector as a daily driver for about 2 years and finally started to fade out so watched a few youtube videos to get some recommendations and Elephas was one reviewers #1 though the model he reviewed was no longer available so took a chance on this seemingly newer model. Note: most other reviews under this are for a different model that's plastic and white. This one is bigger with grey fabric as in the pic. Anyway, I was initially a little disappointed with the picture as the colors where a bit washed out and didn't pop like my much older cheap projector. But after some tinkering with the settings got a very vibrant picture. Biggest issue was the default brightness is set a bit too high. Bumping it down 5 steps (from base 50), bumping the contrast up 5 to 55, and upping the saturation to 55 at standard color temp, provides a great picture with very nice color to black ratio. You can tweak the color temp and play with the settings to suite your preferences but the key for me was to turn down the brightness. That's what was washing out the picture. Now I'm very happy with it. Picture quality is most important to me so the auto focus/auto keystone correction features usually don't matter to me; however, this is the first one I've had that both work flawlessly. Super impressed. It appears to have a light version of android with an app store (not google play) where you can install apps directly on the machine but I use an android TV box so can't say too much about that part. Summary Pros: -Large picture from short distance (well over 100" at about 10 feet) -Very good color to contrast ratio after tweaking the settings as described above -Auto focus, auto keystone work awesome -Nice fabric texture instead of just plastic Cons: -Fan is louder than my previous projectors. Not crazy loud but noticeable -Out of the box picture color is washed out, requires manual tweaking but not a huge deal once you get it dialed in -Not big but not as compact as most others in this price range (minor to not really an issue, just stating for reference) On day 5 with it and will report back if my opinion changes.

Initially nice, but unusable after a few months
I was initially excited about this projector. It had a very nice price point with a decent brightness and access to most the basic apps. HOWEVER. Mere days after the return date had passed, the remote stopped working. I tried contacting the company through Amazon as well as through the email address that came listed for support with the projector. Neither channel got a response. Eventually, I figured out that if I squeeze the bottom of the remote a certain way, I can temporarily fix whatever short is in it to use it while being squeezed. Not the most convenient. I looked into a universal remote, but I could not find one that supports cheap unknown brands. We limped along like this for the rest of the summer and now, a mere 3 months after the return date passed, the projector is fully useless. It can no longer focus at all, either manually or auto. After being completely ignored about the remote issue, I'm not even going to bother reaching out for support now. I just have to accept that I was sold garbage and remember not to trust this company in the future.

This could go either way (Went fairly well)
This could go either way. I have emailed Elephas for support. I will update my rating if things change. UPDATE #1: Email bounced back as invalid, but seller contacted me 3 days later due to this review. I have replied and will update here with outcome. UPDATE #2: (6 days after review.) After explaining the below situation through Amazon messaging, the representative agreed to exchange the projector and asked for my address for a shipping label. I supplied my address, but then received a message with an image showing support email addresses (Amazon will strip email addresses from messages). I expressed my disappointment at the extra, external step, but agreed to email outside of Amazon's message system. I will update with results. Also, I will attach the image with the valid support email addresses for others who may need support. UPDATE #3 - FINAL OUTCOME: After emailing Elephas customer support, I was shortly sent a paid return shipping label. Elephas sent a replacement projector as soon as they received shipping confirmation, and it arrived via Amazon 3 days later. I'm going to chalk this up to a bad unit (happens sometimes) and up my rating from 1 to 4 stars. If contacting customer service wasn't such a hassle, I'd go to 5 stars. It's a good projector when used with external inputs, it's just kind of clunky trying to use the built-in apps. We have been running this projector for about 2 months, about 2-3 hours per day. It worked well, with a good picture over HDMI. The operating system and apps seem to be at very low resolution, but the picture was sharp. Last week, the HDMI ports stopped working. We carried on, using the Plex app (again, low resolution until we started a stream). A few days later, the projector started shutting down randomly, but we were able to restart it and continue. last night, the projector shut down mid-movie and would not restart; no signs of life at all. I have emailed their support address (took a while to find it) and will update my rating depending on the outcome.
