Great for price but sensitive skin/eyes be careful!
This sunscreen is great for its price. The white cast is very mild and hardly noticeable. It’s a mineral sunscreen that’s easy to apply and spreads nicely. It isn’t overly greasy or anything. One thing I do not like though—if you are a chef, chemist, or anything where you will be working with irritants, be careful. Both this sunscreen and the dark blue Shiseido chemical sunscreen have something in them that make irritants very prominent or adhesive to my skin. When I was in culinary school the onions would burn my eyes so bad I would cry for 10 minutes after the onions were gone. I notice this one is the same. I do love this sunscreen and maybe that was my own personal experience but something to be wary of!

I should have give a chance.
I learned from my mother that Japanese sunscreens are usually a great choice, so I decided to buy this Shiseido Ultimate Mineral sunscreen. When I saw that it was a mineral sunscreen, I got very excited because I have very sensitive skin, and it is quite rare to find a mineral sunscreen from a Japanese brand (made in Japan)However, when I received the box, I noticed that it said “Made in U.S.A.” I was expecting it to be made in Japan, (It was not described anywhere on Amazon advertising that it was not from Japan)So I decided to return it.“Unapproved Filters: Popular Korean/Japanese sunscreens use modern chemical filters (like Tinosorb S, Uvinul A Plus, and Tinosorb M) that offer superior, non-greasy protection but haven't been approved by the FDA since the 1990s.”I gave this product 4 stars because Shiseido is a well-known brand with excellent product quality, and I really like that it is a mineral sunscreen. After requesting the return, I realized that I didn’t give it a fair chance.

Pretty good lightweight finish
For being an spf 60, water resistant, mineral sunscreen, this is surprisingly light and pleasant to wear. Normally I can’t wait to get home and wash all the sunscreen off, but I’ve even taken naps wearing this, and it never seems to sting my eyes. It’s not greasy at all like the chemical version in the dark blue bottle. It does leave a white cast on the face, and saying otherwise is just wishful thinking, but at least it’s not as prominent or gray as some other mineral sunscreens, and applying in layers seems to help. It would definitely be great if it came in different tinted shades while maintaining the high spf and durable water resistance.I really like that it stays matte but not dull all day long, and it’s for the face and body, so it’s versatile.I’ve tried two sizes: the smaller one comes with an eye-dropper tip that makes it a breeze to dispense gradually, but the bigger one is a flip top with a dispenser hole, and you reallyyyy wanna be careful when squeezing it or you’ll end up with a palmful of sunscreen because it’s very runny. I wish Shiseido would reconsider their 5 fl oz bottles, because they all have this problem. I’ve considered keeping the small bottle and refilling with the large one, but I doubt it’s hygienic to do more than a couple refills this way.

White residue
It's a nice light lotion but definitely leaves a white residue

Silky feel absorbs quickly; not greasy no white cast
Never makes my eyes tear or sting like neutrogena 70 spf and others do …I’ve been using Shiseido face spf for years…

Love it — 10/10! It has all I need
Just used it for the first time today and I really loved it. It had a thin lotion texture -- runny enough but with consistency and easy to spread. My face didn't look white cast. It is unlike the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc mineral spf 50 sunscreen that I own, that is thick, lacks titanium dioxde for complete UVA/UVB protection, leaves white cast and is hard to wash away. All these downsides are the reason I looked for a new mineral sunscreen. I did some research -- Elta MD, La Roche Posay, LightSaver, Cerave, MDSolarSciences, ColorScience,.... None of these is 100% mineral with high enough zinc oxide and titanium dioxide combined, non-greasy, and derm-tested at a fair price. So happy that I decided to buy Shiseido. The price point is high for such a tiny bottle. But it has all I need. I am just hoping Shiseido can make a tinted version with at least this spf protection. That would be a bonus. I'd love to hear what other people are using that is better than this : ).
