Works Flawlessly IF You Actually Read the Instructions!
Phenomenal spray distance and a total root kill—just give it the 2 weeks it asks for! The number of negative reviews from people who clearly did not read the instructions on this product is comical. This is not an instantaneous flash-kill spray. While you might see some yellowing in 3 days, the label clearly states it takes up to 2 WEEKS to kill the entire root system. I have been using the Spectracide Weed & Grass Foaming Edger for 5 years now, and if you let it do its job, it works GREAT every single time. Why it’s a staple in my routine: Save Your Back: The distance this aerosol can sprays is absolutely phenomenal. You can stand completely upright without having to bend over at all and easily target all the weeds growing directly in the sidewalk grout, brick paths, and tight fence boundaries, even above your head!!! And the foam shot reaches 20 FEET AWAY!! Foam Visibility: The white foam shows you exactly where you've already treated, so you don't waste product or accidentally hit your actual lawn. It doesn't need to "stay foamy" on top of the weeds since it is fast absorbing (another ignorance expressed by many in their reviews.) Bulk Buying is the Way to Go: Yes, the price has gone up recently—but the price on everything has gone up. To counter that, I just buy it in bulk. A solid benchmark is that you shouldn't need more than 12 cans for an entire year to maintain a lawn and clean perimeter. Bottom Line: Stop expecting a 10-second miracle kill. Give it the two weeks to target the roots like it's designed to do, buy a case to save some cash, and enjoy a pain-free, upright application with the best spraying distance on the market. Highly recommended. NOTE: I did notice on my last order of a single can (not bulk) the cap was more difficult to remove, which personally I appreciate for safety purposes when shipping. I am curious to see if the 12 pack on my next shipment, which comes in a box, has tighter caps, too.

Great!
I was skeptical, but a friend told me about this. It works great. I’m trying to kill a bunch of Lily of the Valley that have taken over one of my gardens and killing other plants. It has definitely killed what is above the ground, just hope it’s killing the bulb too. Time will tell.

This product is ready to go - no mess - no fuss, just shoot and kill.
I really love this product! I used it to kill random weeds that crop up in non-grass areas of the yard. I love the spray head. It shoots a thin spray of fine foam from a foot or so away... very easily directed at a single weed. I even used it to kill a noxious thistle in my lawn and it did yellow a bit of surrounding grass - I knew this could be the result but well worth it. I have a patch of quack/crab grass growing in the area where one of the home's downspouts drain. I researched this weed and it is tremendously hard to kill, spreads rapidly underground, and so can spread even further into your lawn in a season. It grows a large number of fine roots deep in the ground so it is not possible to dig out unless you use a backhoe or something!! It has to be sprayed in early spring at the 2 - 3 leaf stage, or choked out over time by thick healthy turf. I NEVER manage to catch it in time in the spring, so out of desperation I used this product to at least curb it spreading. At first it looked like I got a total kill. Later though the Quack Grass did start re-growing - but with a follow-up spray it has been very dead looking for quite a while. At very least I know this nasty weed has not spread! This time I am going to till that area deeply, plant new grass seed rather heavily and see what happens. The only CON would be the price... the cans run out rather quickly. For me the trade-off is how handy they are. I grab a can every time I work outside and they are ready to go - no mess - no fuss, just shoot and kill.

Shake and Squeeze, Shake and Squeeze…Repeat…Kills Weeds!
I wasted a whole can trying to figure out the best way to use the nozzle…adding to the waste was my failure to shake the can enough. Following the instructions is critical with the Spectracide Foaming Edger… when you think you’ve shaken the can enough—you haven’t. Continue shaking the can until your arm (almost) falls off. The nozzle works just fine if you have endless finger strength. I learned, the hard way, to not do 100’ of fence line at one time in one swoop. So, after finishing my training using up three cans I finally got it. Shaking and squeezing does (mostly) work if you can do it enough. BTW I could never get any foam. It is now a week later and the stuff has worked really well … dead weeds abound. My advice for improving your weed terminations, hire a young person to follow you and continuously shake your can. You might even get some foam!
