Anchor Hocking Palladian Window Cylinder Jars, Mixed Sizes, Cherry, Set of 4

I love the color - I have red accents in my kitchen and these go very well. They also match the bread keeper I just bought. What I don't like about them is the size. I wanted to be able to get 5 pounds of flour in the biggest one, but it only holds 2 1/2 pounds, and the next smallest one only holds about 2 pounds of sugar. I put powdered sugar in the third - and it's not quite big enough. The smallest one holds brown sugar. I'm not sure how much, but it's nowhere near what the plastic package holds. I think I should have gotten 2 sets - but in my very small kitchen, there just isn't room.If you don't care if you can't get 5 pounds of flour in the biggest one - go for it. They are really pretty.

These were a Christmas Gift, and we absolutely loved the fairly simplistic design. They seal very tight, are very heavy and well made, and the little spoons that hook on the sides are fun.It feels like the seals are VERY tight with the steel clasps, and that's a step up over our old canisters which simply had lids you popped down and lifted off. They always pulled the rubber seals off because of that, but these everything stays in place and seems pretty air tight.The metal tabs open easily as well and don't snap too hard or anything. They pop up and snap down pretty fluidly and relatively easily. They were a hit as a gift since that was something she'd asked for, and the neutral colors helped them blend into the kitchen right away too.

Purchased two sets of these and of course I love them because I have two of the large Anchor Hocking containers that I store sugar and flour in. Those grace my counter top. I bought the smaller sets to use for pantry storage but its really a shame to hide them away because they're so stylish. Anchor Hocking is a name that I've known since my childhood and I trust them for a quality product. These do not disappoint. I appreciate that the lids are see-through so you know the contents and that they are airtight. I suppose that you could put them in the dishwasher but I hand wash mine because I'm scared that the lids will become clouded over time and dishwasher detergent will spot the stainless. Speaking of washing--this probably goes without saying, but do wash them before using as some manufacturing residue will remain on the stainless steel. This is a safe, durable, airtight and good-looking storage solution for your food. What a bargain. So glad I stumbled upon a sale on these. Highly recommend.

We have a family tradition which is to always make time to cook. Our head chef in our family loves the idea of displaying snacks and/or healthy foods in a clear, transparent, and highly visible elegant canisters. The family "buyer" was looking for canisters that would not break because of her day care services. In addition, these glass canisters are perfect in our Mother's kitchen. Mrs. Elizabeth P McClain-Butler (Our Mother's) kitchen philosophy is "If they see it. They will eat it." These canisters are clear and fits into our mother's family "Good Healthy Eating" habits and/or practices. She has one canister filled with colorful snacks in the living room on the end sofa table. It reminds us of the dish filled with treats on the New! World a-k-a "EMPIRE" show! smh. lol. All of our family values are verbalized to our immediate family members by Mrs. Elizabeth Butler, since 1991. Our ancestors showed these same family values through their actions less verbal communications.

I was looking for something to hold coffee and sugar to keep on our counter. These are great. The other two canisters we ended up using for cat and dog treats. This way we have a nice looking, organized counter and we don't have the mess of dog and cat treat bags, coffee bags, sugar bags, etc.One problem we've noticed is that the wooden spoons come so close to the canister lid that when you close the lid it can sometimes catch the spoon and snap off a part of it. It's happened to two of them so far. Thankfully we don't use all of the spoons, and mostly just keep them there for looks, but it's still kind of annoying.The other thing other reviewers have noted is the smell when the canisters are new. Yes, indeed these canisters are kind of smelly at first. But that's only because of the ring of plastic they put on the lid to protect it, and help seal it to the jar. When I first got them, I took all of the plastic rings out and washed them thoroughly. I noticed the smell dissipated, and now it's gone.

I got those to put pasta inside. So I went to the Q&A and some people said that it fits spaghetti but it doesn't. I got the "ball lid" model and the highest jar is not high enough, so maybe other models will fit long pasta but not this one so be aware (I got a picture for comparison). Other than that it looks nice, the lid has a rubber around that keeps fresh whatever is inside. Looks great for the price.

I purchased three of these things, expecting them to be a little shorter and wider than they are, but they’re not inconveniently sized. I used mine for coffee beans and dice, separately of course. The one I stored my dice in hasn’t gotten a single scratch even from the metal dice I use and I’ve been a little aggressive by tossing dice in. I wouldn’t recommend taking these out of your house to transport things because they are fragile and not to put hot things inside/around because they can shatter from being acrylic. I probably won’t continue using one of them for dice because I haven’t been able to bring any dice with me because the large storage container is so convenient that I don’t really feel bothered to look for the specific dice I need. If I ever need more space I will definitely pick these up, they’re not perfect but they do an amazing job at keeping things stored safely and they last a long time.

Anchor has always been a very good choice.

lids do not fit smoothly. with the odd plastic seal in place they are impossible to close. when you cut the bottom flange of the seal away they close better but the top flange is warped and uneven. the lids don't fit sit level. jars have very noticeable mold lines. thin glass will break. made in china. poor quality
