Solar pond pump
This is amazing way to keep your pond functioning without a huge electric bill. It does work best on sunny days since it is solar and on cloudy days sometimes it doesn’t. But I love having something simple to set up and cost efficient.I purchased this in May then I decided to purchase the waterfall solar pump also. Because I have a large pond with a small pond and stream in the middle. The waterfall pump has been awesome. I was surprised it could pull the water from my big pond up the slope to the small one.I did have an issue with this pump. It stopped working after about a month but the company sent me a new one and I installed it this morning and it’s working. For me this is truly an easier way to run a pond.

Strong pump, leaky valve
We have geese and use this filter to help keep their small pond clean. At a rated 580 gph it pumps ample volume to keep up with the birds. If you've ever heard the term like "**** through a goose", I can tell you, it is an apt term. In any case the pump is strong and does seem to pump a good volume of water. There is a diverter valve that has to be used directly after the pump outlet in order for any of the other fittings to connect and the shut off to the diverter leaks. Not a big deal unless you really need water coming through only one outlet. The packaging was less than optimal and took a little while to gather all of the little balls and put them back in the filter box. Also, there was ample room inside the filter box to add additional bio balls so I added a bunch of small balls to increase the filtering capacity. The solar panel does run the pump even in partial sun, though at a reduced rate, but still pumps a good amount of water. Good design, strong pump, may need a bit of tweaking to suit your needs.

Good but a few issues
Works good but wish it had one sponge filter instead of multiple. Also the outlet hole one the pump is to big for the accessories that came with is, they come loose and do not tighten all the way. Do like the size and functions good for the shallow end of my pond.

Solar pond kit has plenty of power
I like that the single seventy watt panel feeds a brushless pump rated at 580 GPH, enough for roughly 1,100 gallon ponds. The all-in-one box arrives preloaded with pads and bio-balls, so both debris and dissolved waste get tackled without extra plumbing. A telescoping riser reaching thirty nine inches plus a diverter valve splits flow between a fountain and a small waterfall. Quiet operation and a simple two-week rinse routine keep upkeep low while sunlight covers the energy bill.

Powerful fountain with a few different types of filters.
I'm excited about this pump/filter. The pump part is great - it's powerful and can easily provide water for both the fountain and an additional water feature (another fountain, a cascade, etc) or for utility uses like watering your garden from the pond, or draining it. I'm not sure how effective the filtration process will be (it's still cold out so there's not much to filter). The filter seems to be made of three different elements; a pretty open mesh foam, "bioballs" which probably just provide surface area for microbial action, and two plastic boxes containing what appear to be ceramic balls. There is also the UV light which is designed to kill algae. There is room in the case for additional filter media, should you wish to add any.My only complaint is a small one, but one I'm surprised wasn't caught during design or testing. The UV clarifier is an external element to the pump, and is attached by a wire. The wire is not long enough for the UV clarifier to install in it's slot in the housing when the pump is where it needs to be so the outlet passes out of the housing. I don't think this will impact effectiveness, but stil a surprise. See the photo. It's for this reason that the system gets four and not 5 stars.

It’s TOUGH, low profile and accomplished more than most pond filtration pumps!
This is so durable! I know this just because upon arriving…the box was making all sorts of noise…it sounded like a box full of marbles! So, I was assuming my item had been smashed to pieces within transit and so I was fairly glum and expecting the worst. To my surprise, nothing was actually broken! One of the cases that contain the hardened clay balls (relatable enough to marbles) had knocked over and spilled the little balls out everywhere inside the box. I was still expecting there might be some broken clay balls or at very least, some broken plastic—everything was fine and just had to be put back into place! If that doesn’t speak for how well this item is crafted…I don’t know what else would be!It’s versatile in the way it gives you filtration to a very high level (love the biological media and UV light to kill algae!) and a pretty fountain…all in one! This could handle a small water feature on its on very well and would be a smart addition to larger set ups because really…more filtration is never a bad thing! So functionally, this is a supreme multitasker! It’s easy to install and it’s definitely a value because it benefits larger set ups and can completely take the place of installing a separate filtration water pump to small to medium sized features! Also as I said above…it’s very well made…it’s tough…so, I imagine it will easily stand up to years of low maintenance work and all the dreaded algae blooms you can throw at it! Very pleased with this! Oh and it’s also lower profile than many filtering fountain pumps, which can be really beneficial for giving more options for placement!
