I order two of these for an upcoming annual canoe trip. I received them today and I took them out to the pool to test them out. Construction: Pretty solid, and it exceeded my expectations. Although I wouldn't call it "crush proof," the plastic was sturdier than I expected (considering the price). Other reviews I read reported leakage problems from the pistol grip end, so I filled mine up and tilted it into an upright position. After a few seconds, large water drops started dripping out at a pretty good rate -- but I expected something like that, and it's not something I'd really call a "leak." I don't plan on returning the two i bought based on this. Fill/Refill Rate: Very fast! Wow, I wasn't expecting it it to fill so quickly! It only takes about 2 seconds -- basically, it fills as fast as you can pull the plunger back. I'm pretty excited about this because it means that I can keep a relentless steam of water going during an attack. The fill rate definitely exceeds my expectations. Maximum Distance: 43 feet (about 14 yards). This distance more than meets my needs, but it's nowhere near the advertised "70 feet." The distance is dependent on the amount of pressure you can apply. I'm an adult male of average/above average upper body strength, and I could only achieve a distance of 43 feet (I literally measured it with a tape measure.) More for teens and adults: The packaging says it's for ages "5 and up," but I think it's more of a 12 and over item. It holds a lot of water and fulled loaded I think it would be too heavy for little kids. As I mentioned, its effective use is dependent on upper body strength, so again, I don't see little kids being able to shoot it more than a few feet. Lastly, this is the 36" model, so you need about a 4 foot arm span to pull the plunger all the way back. Overall impression: This is a great water gun for teens and adults at a very reasonable price! I only wish I had the ability to choose the colors.

For the price, it's an ok squirt gun. I doesn't have as much pressure or power when you push the water out that I expected. When you suck the water up there is a little bit of like an air gap where it feels like there wasn't enough sucking pressure to pull the water up.

Great product. Simple and intuitive…. UPDATE (5 days after purchase) … but very DELICATE and breaks easily! I think its tube material is genuinely too thin and too rigid, causing one fall to split the thin plastic wall. Poor quality plastics? I had it, filled, standing propped on its handle in a corner niche by the door ready to run off nighttime visitors that like to howl outside the bedroom. This morning I went to reach for it and I missed, causing the handle to slide along the tile so that the streamer slid down the wall and struck the tile. Boom. Instant 3-inch crack curving inward from the end of the tube. No more shooting for this one. It shoots out the side now. I’m terribly disappointed. If I chose to buy another (because nothing else shoots this far) I will wrap it in reinforced duct tape like flex-seal before using it, so it’s more accident proof. If you buy one, be aware that it shoots well and is fun, but treat it gently because the tube can break easily. And that can be a major letdown for the kids. Original Review: Goes through water fast, so keep a full bucket or container handy! Okay, full confession: I bought this because a feral cat in the neighborhood won’t leave my indoor cats alone. When they spy him, it’s a howl-and-growl party at 2am at the windows, which is repeated every hour or so. I’d like him to leave, not hurt him. If I show up he runs, then stops and stares from 25 feet away. Still visible to my cats who continue moaning. Not so with this squirt gun! It’s got REACH. It’s not the quoted distance, but it IS enough to make the cat decide to leave so I can get some sleep. Usually one quick squirt of 1/3 the water capacity get him to run, and then the remaining 2/3 scares him off from a distance. Nice to know: You can keep this “loaded” and standing on its handle, leaning up somewhere so it won’t fall over, and there’s no drips or leaks. Pointed down or held level, it will tend to dribble. But held tip-up, it sits for days just fine, waiting to unleash a furious stream of cat-scattering H2O. I’d like to know what grease they use to lubricate the tube, because I want to keep this running into next year. I can see this being a lot of fun at a summer party, too.

This gun is the best! I feel like I have bought just about every water gun on the market: super soakers, small guns, air guns, pump guns, you name it. They all break in some way and or I get sick of filling them and try something new. This gun has lasted the whole summer. I ended up buying 5 guns so we can have fights with guests when they come over. All have survived a lot of battles. Easy to fill: I fill a plastic tub of water in the yard (or our guys can use the hose to fill the tub) and they can easily fill the gun by themselves. Perfect size: The kids can load quickly and run fast with the gun full. They all achieve a good blast of water no matter how small they are. I think the longer guns of this kind aren't as fun because they are heavier when full and clumsier. Durable: I think they are pretty durable. They have lasted the summer (dropped off the deck, whacked, run over with big wheels). They can crack I am sure, they just haven't yet. Simple: No moving parts or things that can fall off. Easy to figure out. Easy to shoot. Not so good: We have brought these in the pool and they take on water inside some how and then leak slowly out. They still work in the pool, but they get heavy and leak a bit in the car on the way home. They do drip a bit if you have a full gun and hold it flat or not upright. But heck, this is a water fight most of the time and that is fine. This is by far the best gun we have ever had. It is like those foam ones, but easier to hold, easier to load, less clunky, and looks like a "gun" which makes them "cool". It is the best product we bought this summer.

This works better then most of the wasp spray that I can find. I got fed up with trying to find a decent wasp spray, so I got this and some dawn ultra soap. Just mix a tablespoon of dawn per gallon of water in a bucket. It kills wasps very effectively, although it takes a few min for the wasps to die, they can't seem to fly after being sprayed. It is hard to be accurate with the gun and it is a bit bulky in tighter places, but it can easily spray a large blast of water far enough to be an excellent wasp killer. This is a decent water gun for adults and teens, but the power and capacity of the gun is dependent on your arm strength, so it would be difficult for younger children to use. It works like a big syringe you fill a bucket with water and you stick the end of the gun in the bucket and pull the two sections apart to suck in water, the faster you can do this the more water you get in the gun. Then to shoot you just slam the two section together as fast as you can, the range and power is dependent on how fast you press it together and on how much water is in the gun. I work at a warehouse lifting boxes all day so I have above average arm strength and I can spray it about 50 feet without much trouble. The advertised 70 feet might be possible, but I am afraid of breaking the gun, I can feel the plastic flex at 50 feet. The gun quality is OK for a toy and I believe that it will last a while as a wasp killer, but I would not expect it to last long under heavy long range use.

The 2 Stream Machines from Water Sports LLC purchased in Feb are total junk, and unusable. One filled up with water completely but when testing outside I shot water upward toward a tree and it went only about 10 ft but was already leaking water out from top to bottom while testing it. The other one couldn’t be filled up- so I took it outdoors and was able to draw some water from a bucket but it still wouldn’t fill completely and all the water poured out immediately as I tried to push the handle so it was unusable from the first try. . I have called the company 2 different times and left msgs and no one has called, txted or emailed back. I was hoping they could give me some help and or tell me how to possibly “fix” the issue before returning to Amazon but that did not happened I purchased two of these a year or so ago. I believe it was the same company- anyway I used them for a couple years with no problem at all. These two Stream Machines are definitely defective. If these had been inspected they wouldn’t pass. Maybe I will find another company who will also have good customer service, so Buyer beware. Finally I called Amazon and of course they took care of issuing a refund immediately. From my experience, Amazon will always work with their customers to be sure any issues are addressed and resolved quickly

It takes some practice to learn how much pressure to use to get the distance you want. I just hate that you have to fill it up all the time. Good quality toy though.

this water blaster is one hell of a weapon in the swimming pool , the stream is so strong, that people literally run away when they see it coming. the only problem is that you really need to be strong if you want to shoot farther than 12 feet.
