None of This Is True

Dark and Twisted Tale
A dark, twisted psychological thriller that starts with a steady beat about a pair of birthday twins. It sounds all cheery and fun, until that mysterious sinister element starts cloaking the story little by little. The pace picks up rapidly and had me turning pages to find out more. The main characters are complex and carry the story well on their shoulders. The suspense burns with an explosion in the second half. While initially Josie seems like a promising podcast story to Alix, only later does she discover her rather interesting family. The author layers the story with heavy themes and a strong plot line. The backdrop, descriptions and emotions all play an elemental role in this compelling narration. For all those who love this genre, it is a must read. This was my first Lisa Jewell novel, can't wait to read more of her books. Her writing style is smooth and fierce, a true inspiration for me, personally as an author.

Thought provoking
I finished None of This is True in 13 hours - literally couldn’t put it down.Omg! I never thought I’d find a character more despicable than Amy Dunne from Gone Girl, but I did. Not getting into that to avoid spoilers but this book was completely crazy. We meet Alix & Josie who share a birthday and that’s where the similarity ends. Alix seems like she has it all, a perfect life, a doting husband, a successful podcast and she’s wealthy. Josie comes off as someone who is on the spectrum, had a traumatic life and barely any money. Josie starts narrating her life story and Alix, looking for a new topic for her podcast, takes an interest. That’s all we need to know before getting into this book. The entire plot is harrowing, I know I will have difficulty sleeping at night for next couple of days. The writing is taut and so is the story - this felt very real, like something that could happen in real life. I generally don’t get this vibe from thrillers.Go in if you can deal with books about the monsters living among us.

easily in the top ten thrillers
True, I couldn’t put the book down. But after the fast paced novel, the ending is rather dull.I still strongly recommend the book though, very well written.

Drag
I found the book quite dragging. The twist was also kind of anticipated, nothing unique about the book as other readers claim it to be. I have read far more better suspense/thriller novels than this. I wouldn’t tag it as a great novel. Okayish

Twisted Tale of Two Birthday Twins
Alix Summer meets Josie Fair in a gastropub on an otherwise ordinary day by mere coincidence, except that it is the day of their forty-fifth birthday. As their birthday guests can see, there is little commonality between Alix and Josie besides their shared birthdate. It’s fascinating to read how Josie’s mind-boggling and twisted tale engulfs Alix and her family. What starts as a casual exchange in a restaurant turns so dark and nasty within a span of a few months that it leads to life-altering consequences for the Summer family.

Oh!! That twist!😱😱
For me, this one makes it to TOP 3 Lisa Jewell books! Uff!First thoughts were the way this one's written is so different! It's a new style with so many other media working along in the book. The classic trade mark writing of Lisa Jewell where you go deeper and deeper into the charachters' lives. Concocting your own theories, and Bam! The book is coming to an end with it's characters getting what they deserve. That as all her books go, there's a ticking bomb at the end counting down from last 10 pages. That twist! Take a bow!Must read for fans of psychos. Such simple manner of writing. You would feel these characters are real and could be right there around you.Worth the wait of so many months! Will wait for the next one! Thank you for this work!
