Great Dust Extractor - Festool Should Offer w/ Smaller 27mm Hose
This is an AMAZING dust extractor! Festool makes terrific products, designed for long-term continuous usage, this dust extractor included. The plastic on my prior decades-old Festool dust extractor was disintegrating, so I RELUCTANTLY decided to plunk down ~$1K for another. In my mind, part of the cost offset was getting a new ~$300 Festool hose, until the parts arrived and I discovered the hose didn't fit my RO150FEQ sander, w/ the new hose diameter waaay too big. Festool should also sell exactly this same dust extractor w/ the smaller 27mm 577159 hose AND use those English word thingies within the listing text to define the differences between the dust extractor / hose assemblies w/ the two different size hoses. Then I purchased the Festool 768135 hose reducing sleeve adapter, so I could use this larger 36mm hose w/ my smaller 27mm tool. Unfortunately the instructions on the adapter were incorrect, showing hose end disassembly was required. It actually just slides into the hose end. FESTOOL, THIS IS AMERICA, PLEASE USE ENGLISH WORDS ON INSTRUCTIONS! I hate instructions w/ only pictures. I really hate it when those pictures are incorrect. The adapter works fine w/ my tool. I initially thought I wouldn't like that additional adapter rigid length at the end of my tool. Turns out I don't even notice that aspect during usage. When I first turned on this tool I almost jumped off my chair when the vacuum made a LOUD bang sound. Turns out that BANG clears the filter of accumulation, maintaining the vacuum airflow even after usage w/ extracting clogging dust. The BANG goes up several levels when this tool also gets the optional 497926 blast gate. I highly recommend adding that blast gate, both for the additional filter cleaning action AND for closing the idle dust extractor inlet, to contain dust when moving and not in usage. Really, really, really LIKE the 496215 dust liners. It is GREAT to fill a heavy duty open top bag, instead of a paper filter. My plan is to reuse / dump these dust liners, extending the utility / decreasing the operational cost. Right now I'm not sure on the cost value. Yes, this is expensive, but my hope is that the verbal discussions w/ Festool prior to purchase, where they indicated the plastic has been improved and this dust extractor won't disintegrate like my prior tool was accurate. Check w/ me in a decade or so...

Good, but the hose dont fit in the other tools they sell.
The hose ONLY fits Festool’s Planex drywall sander which I bought as well, but I was not expecting to expending more $200 for a hose that comes with the small dust extractor for free (like my business parthener have with his small CT 15). I am pretty sure that one of the Festool videos here says It comes with an addapter, but it is not true and they are not clear about it in the description. Nethertheless, This dust extractor is amazing with Festool 575994 Drywall Sander PLANEX LHS 2 225 EQI-Plus. No dust on job side, no mask and the auto clean is awesome. but I need the right hose to fit in my orbital and square sanding which I use in doors, trim and basebords.

Annoying new touch buttons but still a great machine
This is my third Festool vacuum. I also have the older style with the dials instead of touch button controls and I vastly prefer the older dials. The newer buttons are hard to press and often don't register a press well with gloves on. I also don't like having a light on the machine so find myself turning it on and off every day which is extra trouble compared to the old style that had no light. The dial machines also had infinite adjustability whereas this digital one only has 5 power settings. Not a big deal, but it seems like a step backward in every way in order to make something cheaper to manufacture.

Hose only fits Festool’s drywall sander.
1 star because the hose that comes with this dust extractor hose is not compatible with anything in my shop INCLUDING my Festool tools. The hose ONLY fits Festool’s Planex drywall sander but thatbis not explained in the description. You have to spend another $200-$400 on a hose and $100-$200 on attachments, or print your own if you’re able.

Ok but expensive and wrong hose
Like others have mentioned It’s ridiculous that it only comes with planex hose, which I do not want, (using an adapter is not a great idea because the adapters that are available don’t hold tight it it’s not a reliable option day to day) I spoke to Festool directly, I was hoping they would switch the hose for me but they refused. for this kind of money it’s just not fair. So one you add $200 for the correct hose your well over 1300$ invested. You may be better served with the Bosch and it’s cheaper too
