Top grade construction. I am impressed with the product overall. Hardest part was assembly. Fortunately I had a flow hive at my last property so I knew how it went together. Would definitely buy again.

Updated to 5* as the manufacturer sent the divider boards! I have built a few of the mini flow hives so I didn’t even need to consult the instructions, hahaha! A screw from one of the observation windows had come loose and dented a few pieces of wood. The divider boards are MIA. I contacted the distributor, they’re looking into it. There was a nail in the bottom board that made its way loose. I tapped it back in. All in all, a good purchase. If they resolve the divider board issue, I’ll update this review and give this Chinese flow hive 5*s!

This is a pretty good flow hive for the price, and if you're just starting out and don't want to invest too much. Here are some assembly tips: 1- Enlarge the instructions about 150%. 2- Follow the instructions CAREFULLY. 3- Use beeswax to ease assembly of wood fingers and use a rubber mallet to tap wood fingers together. 4- Do not use a hammer (fir wood is soft and it will leave dents). 5- Tap in small nails as place holders for the roof shingles (see photo). Pilot drill your holes, especially for the roof, with a 3/32" bit. There may be 8 roof shingles, not 6 as noted in the instructions. They are each just not as wide. Make sure to identify the bottom two shingles - one for each side. 6- Try to work in a garage or outside. The wood dust may cause coughing. 4 stars because the base arrived cracked, but easily corrected.

The bees don’t like the frams. They are hard to open.

Junk. Save your money and buy an extractor. The fit on the parts are to tight and pieces that are supposed to move have to be beat in. As you can see the one piece broke trying to get it in and out.
